Im really curious do some of you who are from the UK , Australia....have some laws like that ? Where minors can only work certain hours ?
Another thing, I have seen that when you are 16 in the UK you can drink, .......even date someone who is over 20 years old but in the US you can to prison for that so is it applicable to all countries in Europe ?

In the UK...

You can work part-time after age 13 (or on TV, stage etc before then with a licence). A whole series of restrictions apply.

You can leave school at the end of the school year in which you turn 16 and then work up to 40 hours a week.

You can drink at home age 5!

You can't buy alcohol until age 18, but you can have it with a meal at 16 (with an adult)

The age of consent is 16 (both parties). A person in a position of trust like a teacher (who is over 18) cannot have sex with a 17 (or 18?) year old (in their trust)

Will there be en encore tonight ??? Does anyone know ? And if yes, do the judges decide or will the twitter votes count ?

oh very interesting, thank you so much for answering ; From what I can see the rules are much more " relax " over there (well in the Uk and in Europe in general ).

bib by drink you mean alcohol; like a kid who has dinner with his parents and they are drinking alcohol ?

Yes. Basically it's the parents' decision.

Well I really hope that after tonight , TPTB stops this idea of having twitter decide who gets the encore : 1- its not fair on many contestants who dont have a lot of followers on twitter and 2- Zen is going to win most of the times and I want her to go very far so this wont help her in the long run.
They are unintentionally hurting her (backlash..) by trying to compete with the Voice , American Idol or other popular tv shows here.

Actually, quite a lot of US states permit minors to drink at home too (with parental consent).

Justin B was touring worldwide at 16 and I'm sure Jaden Smith (14) was pictured in a night club in the UK recently I wonder do some celebrity teens get a pass.

Just imagine Demi Lovato who is going to perform on the show tonight who had a terrible addiction problem and went to Rehab. She just turned 20 I think and going from what I read , she did drugs for quite a long time so lets say before she was 18 thus when she was a minor.
I think Hollywood or the entertainment business in general can be really dangerous for teenagers/kids stars if you dont have the right entourage/guidance by your side. Look at how many child stars turn out to be trainwrecks : Lindsay, Britney (although I love her but thank God her family intervened and she changed ), Amanda Bynes, Miley who was involved in some drugs scandal a while back, Vanessa Hudgens who had nude pics out just after the High School Musical Franchise..... A lot of these Disney Kids always act out when they turn a certain age (18, 20, 22...) so thats why I see many people saying that they really hope that Zen continue to stay lovely , grounded, respectful, hardworking
. She is so mature for her age and a stunning young girl so her dad will have to fight many boys/men once she hits 18 .

totallly off topic,
but you cannot go to prison in the US for 'dating' someone as you described.

sexual age of consent is another matter and for the UK it is 16 yrs old and in the US it is between 16 and 18 yrs old depending on the state laws (and in Missouri and Iowa it's as low as 14 in certain cases. )

regarding the 16 yr old and under drinking in the UK, there are conditions to that. ie. beer, wine, cider and where it can be purchased, where it can be consumed and who can do the purchasing. Same in the US, not uncommon in certain families to provide a small glass of wine with meals, perhaps watered down, or a sip of beer.

I know over here that minors (under 16) normally have to be finished by 10-10.30pm, as this is what happened when I was in a professional stage production and it happens on tv show's as well.
