OMG Yessssssssssssss Z and Val have the Argentine Tango next week , my favourite dance I have to say. Plus its Val's 1st AT on the show arghhhh I smelll a couple of 10s and them back the top of the leaderboard. This performance has the promise to be something else and special appearance by Maks and Anna, arghhhhhh can next week be there already ? lol

But I heard that JLo being the diva she is always ask TPTB that the focus is mostly on her during her performance . She really sounded good but I wanted to see more of Val and Anna, urghhh. Oh well, the whole performance was beautiful anyways

I'm not a fan of the way they are using Twitter this season.
I think the petty squabbling between fans is a shame.

People seem to want to put down other celebs/pros to big up their own favourites & that is sad.
Everyone has some value to bring to the show & to me the focus should be on the dancing not a Twitter love/hate fest.

Lol, I said from the moment the cast was announced that I was rooting for her but I did have worries about her fanbase. So happy that I can add her huge fanbase to things now.

Apparently, next week is 'Side-by-Side with a Pro' week.

I'm guessing this means that, in Zendaya's case, Maksim and Anna will be dancing the Argentine Tango and then Zendaya and Val will be next to them, 'mirroring' their movement.

The mind boggles for someone like DL or Andy. Yikes!

I wonder if they get to pick their Pro?

ABC should do what Tom Bergeron has apparently suggested more than once: make it a yearly show. In fact, I would go so far as to suggest that DWTS should take a break for a couple of years after this season, then try and bag some strong B-list celebrities (no A-lister is going to risk ridicule on the dance floor!) for its return. I think that would make it more the must-see spectacle that Strictly Come Dancing generates for its launch shows.

If they do that, I also think that they should go back to the original premise of watching people learn how to dance. Drop the contrived drama, the showmances and definitely the themes, unless they're 'natural' ones, such as Hallowe'en.

As for Twitter: a good idea in and of itself, but, as has already been pointed out, the 'too cool for school' kids would win the encore spot every time - the 'too school for cool' ones would never get a look in. I definitely think that decision should remain with the judges.

This is how the dance next to a pro thing is going to work , Sharna Burgess explained it last night when they interviewed her .

The pro couple dances for the first 30 seconds. The celebrity couple joins them for the next 30 seconds where their dance is synchronized. The celebrity couple performs alone for the final 30 seconds.

Sounds kind of weird and Im not sure Im going to like it. Good dancers like Kellie, Z, Aly, Jacoby (even though he is okay ) will fare well but I can see the rest of the pack struggling with this brilliant idea , good job TPTB .

At first I wanted them to limit it to once per year like SCD but now I disagree. Next week is the show 300th show; yes the ratings were down this week and an at all time low during the Allstars (people like to see the journey that the celebs take/partnerships : reason why it didnt do well) but at this day and age a dancing show like dancing with the stars should be proud to still makes the ratings it does after many years especially compared to new shows like the Voice, and American Idol .

Plus next week many favorites pros are back Maks, Anna, Chelsea......so I think they will do well with the ratings .

Did Derek only stay on this season because he didn't win with Shawn? I'm sick of the judges fawning over him.

I do hope so. Although you're right that the viewing figures are commendable after eight years, I still believe it should be an annual event, but I don't mind agreeing to disagree.

Im still surprised that he didnt win with Shawn; Im glad that many people were tired of seeing him win all the time and get good partners.Give him someone like Wynona or Bristol Palin for a change. Yes he is a very good choreographer but thats easy when you have good partners all the time.

I think people are sick of him winning. I'd love to see what he could do with someone like Bristol or Kate Gosselin, but that isn't going to happen.

I can't see him winning this year for some reason. He'll do very well though (as usual). Kellie is sweet enough and she's a decent dancer (if very overrated by the judges). I think Zendaya has a good shot, although it'll probably be someone like Jacoby.

Yeah I also think its mostly between these 2 with Jacoby winning but Z has a good shot . Val needs to do an amazing freestyle for them to win but it doesnt really have too much experience for that. And I hope they dont go for a Hip Hop freestyle; it wont do well.
