Thanks to everyone for the pics, links etc. Phew, such a lot to catch up on.
I have seen week 6 dances. Loved the Stevie Wonder song night. Thought some of the songs did not suit the dances. Preferred Team Paso over Team Samba. I must have missed something between Victor and Lindsay. Did not see anything untoward between them. She has tried to get the best out of him, but sadly, I think their time has come to an end. Hope Lindsay is back next season. Is she engaged/married Gosh so young, but then again age is only a number ![]() PS, I never minded seeing all the Zendaya/Val posts here. We all have our favourites Just saying ![]() ![]() Nothing untoward happened between Vic and Lindsay, Brooke was being a bit cringey in the Skybox and Vic said he loved Lindsay and it made them both look awkward as Brooke kept on about it. Think Lindsay did the best she could with Vic and I hope to see her back next season. Glad you are supporting Ingo, we all have our favourites, although this season I am not rooting for anyone in particular and haven't had the urge to vote. |

I'll be fine with any one of the girls winning, or even Jacoby if he can improve technically. |

I loved Kellie & Derek's QS.
Ally did a good FT. She makes Mark more likeable somehow. I'd be happy to see her in the final. I know Jacoby's technique is poor but I like him & his partnership with Karina. They make me smile. Zendaya is very good but IMO she hasn't had her zing moment yet. Ingo, Sean & Andy are awful. I'm sorry to see Victor go. I think Lindsay did her best but i'd be interested to know how Karina would have dealt with him. I suspect she'd have given him a rocket up the bum & channelled his competitive side a bit more. I miss Tristan

I liked Victor but over time he became less enthusiastic to the competition and therefore he was less interesting to watch. Right time for him to go.
Sean, Andy and Ingo should all be the next to go, in any order (let Andy go ASAP though) |

Week 7 Dances
Andy and Sharna - Rumba (inspired by 'Singin' in the Rain') Zendaya and Val - Paso Sean and Peta - Rumba Ingo and Kym - something with 'major hip action' Aly and Mark - Salsa Kellie and Derek - Samba Jacoby and Karina - ? I can't see any mention of hip hop apart from in here . Are we sure? (Haven't looked very far, mind )

exactly he is covering up, jealous much Derek ? Actually I was surprised that she wasnt paired up with Derek 1- he always gets the ringers 2- heightwise , he is a bit taller than Val.
Derek is just jealous that he didnt get Z imo Def sour grapes. ![]() ![]()

Just catching up with the week 6 dances...late as usual
![]() From the comments I thought Val had bawled Zen out but he only just raised his voice? I didn't think that was worth all the fuss it seems to have attracted. Though Aly did a lovely job of the foxtrot. There's something funny about her posture even when she's not dancing - maybe all the years of gymnastics? She seems to bend backwards. Her and Mark make a nice couple on the dancefloor, they seem well matched somehow. He needs to worry less about his outfit (hat and spats again Mark :yawn and talk nicely to the costume dept about Aly's dresses - this was another unflattering one.I preferred the team Samba. It was fun and they all finished exactly together at the end, by some miracle! ![]() And finally...I watched Victor's rumba through my fingers, cringing. Poor bloke - he was embarrassed to start with, then he forgot his steps, I bet he wished the dancefloor would open up and swallow him I would like to ask this of any of you dance-teacher types out there - why don't the pros teach the celebrities 'Cuban motion' before they start on Latin dances i.e. bend one leg, keep the other straight, and alternate? Once you have felt the effect that bending and straightening has on your hips you understand what they mean by 'hip action' - it's not wiggling or thrusting but is a natural consequence of bending and straightening your legs. Am I talking rubbish?

And to hear her say that Val is nothing compared to her dad (in terms of being tough ), Im just like wow better not piss her dad off lol. And as for your last paragraph, I would just say that given the fact that most of these celebrities attempt something like ballroom/latin dancing that they have never done in their lives before (well most of them ) , I think the pros just try to focus on teaching them the routines aka what would get them through another week and get them a good score as to really teaching them the fundenmentals of the dance. Imho out of all the pros at dwts , Mark is the one who excel in this the most. Because he always make sure to teach each one of his celebrities the proper technique ...yep even Bristol . From what Ive seen, I feel like after the show most of his celebs partners can actually still remember some techniques of a particular dance. This is where Derek falls short with me because imo he just focus on teaching his celebs the choreography/the routine . I gave the example of the Golden Boys because Im really familiar with their work as a longtime dwts viewer ![]()

And on the subject of Lindsey, I really hope she is not back next season and I will be very surprised if she is. She is just meh, blah, just there :yawn::yawn:...
Sure victor was a bad dancer but I still think that he would have fared well with another pro (be average at least ) . And from what Ive been reading elswehere about her so far , I think its safe to say that she will be a one-time pro. Once again, I dont have anything against her; she seems like a sweet girl and a great dancer but she is just not good enough for this show imo. |
