Aly is a pretty girl I dont know why the stylists on this photoshoot or at dwts ...cough...Mark cant find something that suit her body type. Cmon its not that hard !!!. They always put her in the most unflattering outfits.

To be fair, Kellie has an incredible body and Zendaya is tall and skinny so she can wear anything. Aly's body is perfect for winning gold medals in gymnastics, but it's a bit tricker for clothes. Feel a bit sorry for her having to be compared to two beanpoles in a fashion shoot. Actually, I didn't rate any of the outfits in the first pic .

Thinking about other dancers with Aly's body shape, I think wardrobe have struggled before. (Shawn? and Letitia on Strictly wore some horrors), Seems they have a very limited idea of what a woman should look like

I think the cut of of the samba and cha cha outfits worked well (opposing diagonals and something to create volume top and bottom to give the illusion of a waist)

So I read that this tuesday Derek gets to choreograph a little Fred Astaire piece that he put together. Still trying for that Emmy, isnt he ? Just give him his own show already , sheeeshh !!!
See this is what I hate with the show and makes me dislike him even though it might not be really his fault. The show, the judges especially Len favor him too much, I understand that he is popular but give the other pros who work just as hard and who are even more talented than him a chance. Sure he is a very good choreographer but if you never give someone like Tristan, Gleb, Henry.....whoever a chance how are we going to know what they are able to do They might be able to produce some of the greatest routines this show has ever seen given the chance but we will never know that because the show favor some pros.
I can't count the number of times Derek or Mark has been given the chance to showcase their talent. The funny thing is that many pros are more decorated and talented than them (Val, Karina, Tony, Louis, Anna....) but they are never given that much opportunity.
Sorry for the rant . Just count this season so far and see how many pro routines Derek or Mark have been given compared to the other pros , SMH.
I hate to say this but until Derek takes a season off, I dont really see TPTB give someone like Tristan a real chance to shine.

Totally agree and felt short changed by that on Strictly last series, too. Some of the standard dances are a tough test and it takes away from the value of reaching the final or winning if they've dodged one or two of the most difficult dances. I wouldn't feel so against the new dances if they had all covered the standard ones.

I've actually seen all the various segments already, but prefer the upload where they have the show in full. (Wish I could find one for the main show....) You miss a lot of the links and interesting snippets watching just the main segments as well as most of the bits when they dance in and out of the ad breaks.

Don't know if this has been posted, but Twitter's coming into play to choose the dance styles at one point- which are:

Afro-Jazz, Disco, Flamenco, Hip-hop, Lindyhop and Charleston

Zendaya will obviously get hip-hop because that's what her Twitter fanbase will choose for her, regardless. She'll be great at it- hopefully Val can pick it up too.

I think Afro -Jazz would be a great choice.

Arghh sorry, I tried.

I feel 2 ways about it: On one hand I dont want her to get hip-hop (because of the backlash/high expectations but then again haters are going to hate so whatever ) but seeing her uber-fans already talking about it , Im pretty sure and guarantee that thats what they are going to choose for her .

On the other hand, Im excited about them picking hip-hop because it will hopefully force Val to do something else for their freestyle meaning it will probably steer him away from doing a hip-hop inspire routine (since Im assuming she will do it on the semi-final ). At least thats what I really hope it does, there is no other way for him to lose this final easily for them if he does hip-hop for their freestyle and do the crap freestyle he did last season. He has to think outside the box if he expects to beat Derek, Mark or Karina. And right now, all those 3 have the edge over him so I have reallly low expectations for his freestyle but hopefully I will be proven wrong.
I place too much emphasis on the freestyle because as we know, its (unfortunately ) what really makes you win this competition.
