Links to watch the show....

All of the dances in reverse order
Good quality. VTs and Dances but no skybox and scores. No linky bits

Full clips and some of the links
Not such good quality and not complete (yet?). Scroll down and there's a 'whole thing in order' version etc ...except it's not whole. yet.

Good quality clips (usually with the skybox etc)
Slow to upload ..... and getting slower .

My take on the semi final dances

Kellie/Derek - Arg. Tango
I loved this, strong, crisp lines. Flexible throughout. Thought the silhouette beginning set the scene. Agreed with the 10's
Flamenco
Something missing here. Spent too much time looking at Derek and not Kellie Thought she could have done more. Not "forceful" enough. Thought it should have been 9's all round.

Ingo/Kym - Samba
Umm, Samba, not a lot of bounce. A lot floor work done by Kym. Knew this would be a hard one for Ingo to pull off. Agree with the 8's
Charleston
Thought this would be fun and it was. Nothing to lose for them at this stage....not sure it deserved the 9's though.

Aly/Mark - Rumba
Clunky rumba walks, no hip movement, did not do it for me. Overmarked.
Afro Jazz
I loved this, but more like a freestyle for me. Agreed with the judges scores.

Jacoby/Karina - Arg. Tango
Liked the stage setting, although too dark for me. The height difference has bothered me all season. More like 9's for me.
Lindy Hop
Bit of all over the place for me, but enjoyable. Happy that Karina was okay to dance. Agreed with the judges scores.

Zendaya/Val - Quickstep
Did not like the music and the theme. Did not enjoy the routine at all. Agreed with the judges scores.
Hip Hop
Zendaya was in her element here. Good routine, and Val did well, considering he had never danced Hip Hop before. Agreed with the 10's

My favourites of the night were Kellie and Derek's Argentine Tango and Aly and Mark's Afro Jazz.

Ingo should be going home. I have been a fan of his all season, but he is the weakest dancer and he knows it. He is happy to have gotten this far in the competition.

BIB About Z and Val QS : I still dont know what the hell val was thinking , really disappointed with that routine. I blame it on him mostly because the choreography, costume ...everything just fell off about it and I know that Z is very capable of doing a very good QS so what the hell was he thinking .I expected her to excel at the QS and underwhelm in the hip hop but the opposite ended up happening .I was actually very impressed with her hip hop routine last night because my goodness what she does on her show does not even compare. Even I , can do the same routines that she does on her show. Anyone with lack of experience can do routines on her show so its a very big misconception that she was going to do well in hip hop because if you knew what she danced in that show , you wouldnt think so.
I will say it again, many 10s last night were so undeserved , if that is what it takes to get 10s then Z and Kellie should have gotten 10s weeks ago (Z's jive, AT, Kellie QS, Kellie samba...) Give me a break !!! The judges were handing out 10s like candies last night , what a weird semi-final

Val said weeks ago that he is the only one who can keep Z away from winning that trophy and imo its the truth, if she doesnt win is because he failed to deliver on the choreography. He is competing with the likes of Mark, Derek and Karina who knows what it takes to win so he really needs to step it up.

Y'all know I love conspiracies theories but I still don't understand why Aly is overscored so much (Okay Jacoby I understand but with Aly I just dont get it, I don't.....yes she has improved but she is still not that good of a dancer compared to Z or Kellie ) and why the judges gave so many 10s last night. They clearly had an agenda .

Next week, I think it will be anybody's game : anyone could win this : the couple that comes up with the most entertaining freestyle will probably win .

Louis' just posted his blog (see link below)
and I AGREE with him, Zendaya and Val's QS was one of the most fastest routine I have ever seen and it deserved higher scores. I also LOVED Zendaya and Val's Hip Hop felt like watching a choreography from SYTYCD, complex and entertaining.

I cant stop laughing at Val's interview after their hip routine in the celebraquarium with Brooke. The Poor Bloke looked relieved that it was over , he couldnt stop sighing and panting Lmao

I'd predict it to mainly between Zendaya and Jacoby, but who knows.

It was the fastest QS I have seen for sure. Not their best dance but when you compare it to how the other couples have been overscored last night and all season it deserved at least a 26 if not a 27 imo. Giving someone like Z a 8 at this stage of the competition is too harsh. That was her lowest score since week 1 . The group paso doesnt count.
I would have been fine with 26 but 25 ??? No...that was way too harsh !!!

And as much crap as Z is getting for being a " ringer " , Im glad that many people are realizing how Aly has been overscored all season.

I think that people overestimate Jacoby's fanbase just because he is a football player; He is not like other footballers that we've had in the past. If anything I think that Kellie has more of a chance to win this competition than him.

I still think it will be between Z and Kellie : who will win ? I dont know

Heya y'all.

Semi Final thoughts

Kellie
Argentine Tango - Strong and passionate I truly loved it and thought it deserved 30. Kellie really worked hard with that performance and Derek did great chorography.
Flamenco - Found the performance boring and not really as great as the AT but she did a good job from the looks of things.

Ingo
Samba - Horrific. Showed how much out of his depth he is compared to the rest. I think he knows his number is up.
Charleston - Nice and cheeky and IMO was a great dance for Ingo to bow out on

Aly
Rumba - Did not think it deserved 30 at all. Found it cold and not romantic. Just did not feel right to me.
Afro Jazz - Loved this performance from Aly. Really entertaining but did look freestyle TBH.

Jacoby
Argentine Tango - I thought he really stepped up this week and this was easily his best dance. Was it perfection I am not really sure. I think the VT of him sulking about not getting 10's put pressure on the judges. 9's for me would have been more accurate score.
Lindy Hop - It was fun to watch and happy Karina is okay however really think it was overmarked again by the judges. For me Jacoby is clearly average below the other girls. That's probs due to the height difference.

Zendaya
Quickstep - Horrendous performance. What on earth was Val thinking.
Hip Hop - Did not really like the performance and thought it was over hyped. Z really let me down for the semi finals. If she performs like this in the final she is not going to win.

Ingo is defo getting eliminated. I would be VERY shocked if he survives.

Then my prediction for the final

Alexandra - 4th
Jacoby - 3rd
Kellie - 2nd
Zendaya - 1st

But it all comes down to the night. It should be a cracker.

I think that would be great.

I wonder If on the final the vote will open straight away and one eliminated at the end of the 1st show. However I always thought it was difficult for America to do the results on the same day due to the millions of votes they receive and have to count and verify.

In the UK its easier as they get fewer votes.

Interesting. Not sure what I think about it though

I've always assumed they had the results show next day because of the different time zones across the country - how will they make that work with the voting, I wonder?

I like your predictions for the final .Fingers crossed that the order.

Louis Smith (who was my fav. to win btw ) last SCD winner had a crappy semi-final and still won the competition because he was excellent in the final . I expect z to bring her A game next week; I know that they are going to put this behind them and really wow her fans and the public next week

Oh wow thanks for the link but what does this mean for the actual performance night 2 hours was more than enough so does it mean that some dances are going to eliminated ? Less couples ?
Oh and btw this is not a good news for the Troupe that TPTB were trying so hard to promote : Less work for them and some of them are going to get fired....

Instead of eliminating the results show they should have just made it a 30 min show. I dont know how this is going to work .

And does anyone knows the format of the final yet ???

Does anyone thinks that cutting the results show could be the beginning of the end for dwts ...The ratings have dropped, sure they were not as bad as last season but they still dropped.......

I don't think their QS was that bad. Wasn't great. I wonder if the fact that Z had so much going on last week with, exams for school, auditions & recording, plus the limits on hours she can work...if there just wasn't enough time to perfect it. I appreciate him going for a different approach to a QS even if it wasn't a success. I think in order to compete with Mark & Derek he needs be creative like that...I want to encourage him in trying new stuff in the future.

With Val when he is out of his element I end up liking the result....contemporary (both seasons), cha cha fox trot last season & hip hop for example.

BIB I agree. I just re-watched it and it wasn't that bad but because people hold her to different standards than the other competitors then maybe that's why the judges and others were so harsh with her.
I bet the judges are going to choose that dance for them next week.

another article about losing the results show
They really want to get that younger demographic. I bet the voting will be via twitter...

And another
...viewers will still be able to vote in some capacity....

Its amazing how SCD who has been around for a long time like dwts gets an increase in ratings every year while dwts continues with a decline in ratings . The weird thing is that usually the celebrities at dwts are usually big names ( or used to be ) .With SCD is mostly soap actor/actresses, sportsmen/women, singers......really C- list celebs and the formula still works, the show is still very succesful. Is it maybe because SCD is once per year and dwts twice a year
I have to say though, as someone who is in the demographic that DWTS tries so hard to reach Im basically the only one who watch it. All my friends/relatives watch the Voice, American Idol or other talents shows...

I think 16 seasons is a lot, but US TV is more cut-throat, too. Ratings matter to the BBC, but not to the same extent as commercial channels.

Going after the younger viewer is fine, but I don't think they'll get them and they risk losing their core (loyal) audience into the bargain.
