300th Birthday Cake - think this may be best bit of show, or am i being too negative, just seems minimal celebration compared to 200th show.

Notice Kellie in her AT dress so i'm guessing that will be this weeks Encore dance.

Does anyone thinks that cutting the results show could be the beginning of the end for dwts ...The ratings have dropped, sure they were not as bad as last season but they still dropped.......
They are still higher than most shows on ABC, but 3 hours per week dedicated to one show is a lot. I don't think it's the death knell, but the results show is really a bunch of fluff when you think of it: drawn out results, Macys Stars of dance, a performer showcasing their latest album. I dont watch it on TV, I do watch the monday night show, but on tuesday I either get the results elesewhere and watch the show on abc,com the next day and fast forward for most of it especialy if the Macys stars of dance thing is boring, but it takes a large effort to produce a show for one Tuesday night with workers, production team and the scores if not hundreds of others on the lot getting that one hour show to fruition each week.

Its amazing how SCD who has been around for a long time like dwts gets an increase in ratings every year while dwts continues with a decline in ratings . The weird thing is that usually the celebrities at dwts are usually big names ( or used to be ) .With SCD is mostly soap actor/actresses, sportsmen/women, singers......really C- list celebs and the formula still works, the show is still very succesful. Is it maybe because SCD is once per year and dwts twice a year
I have to say though, as someone who is in the demographic that DWTS tries so hard to reach Im basically the only one who watch it. All my friends/relatives watch the Voice, American Idol or other talents shows...
Totally different countries and ways of doing things, I don't think it's as easy as that to compare ratings and one shows ascension and the others descension. DWTS has been on almost 8 years now. Audiences get bored and move on, hence why the producers scramble to introduce new things on DWTS ie. the Immunity (stupid idea, whats next, being voted off by the remaining dancers??), the fusion dances. At one point, we want fresh and new but when we get it it's not what we expected. Many shows that started 7-8 years ago are feeling a loss : American Idol , DWTS, Amazing Race, Survivor.

I think 16 seasons is a lot, but US TV is more cut-throat, too. Ratings matter to the BBC, but not to the same extent as commercial channels.

Going after the younger viewer is fine, but I don't think they'll get them and they risk losing their core (loyal) audience into the bargain.
Higher ratings are higher advertising dollars. The business model is not satisfied with 'average' ratings and if a show is showing a 'trend' downwards, that spurs some sort of action.

Im glad that they put Zen jeopardy because it motivated her fanbase like crazy . They are determined more than ever to see her win.

And she was never in the bottom 2 , it was just for drama

Just like when they put Kellie in " jeopardy " the week before : just for drama

I keep saying threats : if Kellie or Z dont win , Im not watching this show ever again....If Z doesnt win, Im not watching this show ever again lol.....

Ingos finally gone!

For me Aly or Kellie ftw, although Zendaya has been good (as has Jacoby)

My dance of the season was Alys titanium though

Still nothing official that i've seen about dances for final but Aly wrote in Blog today that its 3 dances they preparing for " samba and the cha-cha challenge with the other three couples, freestyle, and the 24-hour challenge" but i've also seen on twitter that couples pick their favourite dance so maybe final 2 couples will do 4 dances.

Differing views on change to 1 show per week for next series here - http://www.today.com/entertainment/t...been-1C9932426

Its definitely going to affect the Troupe though quite badly & after this season where they have had possibly more dances than in past must be shock/worry.

I read Aly's blog as meaning she's preparing 4 dances....

samba (must be Aly's pick for fave dance)
cha cha challenge (all of them together?)
freestyle
24 hour challenge.

Although the way she's written it could mean samba/cha cha challenge, I suppose - which would be 3...

It doesn't sound like they'll be doing their unlearned dance, unless that's the 24 hr challenge...

That would make sense of what i had read previously about it being Celeb/Pro fav dance & no judges choice but then i saw tweet from 1 DWTS fan pages who has good record of getting it right say
"Next week on #Dwts ... The Samba & ChaCha challenge ( like the rumba, chacha, jive challenge weeks ago,) Freestyle & the 24-hours challenge"
So i guess its wait & see when more info leaks out.

24hr challenge wont be much of challenge if its unlearned dance coz they'll already know what that is & be able to prepare for it, i thought this would be more like the Instant Dance but with bit more time to learn it?

No, but then all the other dances have been learned already, too...

I can't remember how they did the instant dance. I know they only got the music just before they danced and had to improvise (-ish) to it, but can't remember how they decided which dance style they'd be doing,

Yes but i thought idea of challenge is they get told what dance only day before but if they know 24hr dance challenge is dance not done then can prep choreography & yes if its style they've done before it will be easier but still will only have that 1 day to practice.

I think they picked dance style out of hat/bowl from what i can remember of instant dance.

Thanks to everyone for the links

BTW, how do you add the "wording" instead of actual links?

I have never seen someone so happy as Ingo and Kym to be eliminated from DWTS....Imagine the uproar if they got through. The right 4 are in the finale and it is anybody's now. The scores are usually fairly even on a finale. The freestyles are going to be amazing. It is all down to fan votes.

DWTS going to one show per week with an elimination on the same night will be good. We have always done it this way in Australia.....Never understood why the US did it differently. Also SCD have the show split over two nights, but as we know the elimination is filmed on the same night. Maybe they should adopt the one night show format as well ! Umm, probably not likely

Cannot wait for next week And the winner will be....................................................??
