Tv/radio Usb Stick
Have seen press ads for this gizmo, a stick which plugs into a computer/laptop and enables yo to " tune in to sport, music, news, drama and comedy from all over the world". Compatible with Windows 7,Vista and XP (not with Macs). Costs £19-99.
Has anyone tried this gadget and if so any comments would be most welcome. Basically, does it work?! |

Sounds like it's a USB flash drive with a media player (or players) and links to sites like this
http://www.worldtvpc.com/ Whatever it is what you'll hear/see is streamed audio/video which is easily achievable without spending a penny - never mind £19.99 |

Sounds like this device http://store.bid.tv/bidtv/Ocean-USB-...Detail.raction I would say its a con as all their selling are links to free streaming services which you could find yourself some of which may not even be legal. and a lot of the links might even be dead.

If you're after access to internet radio then have you thought of going the wifi portable pocket radio route ?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sansui-WTR...item27d015dcff ^the above links to one example of the radio I have, and when I say one-example I mean there are many companies selling identical radios, with just their own companies name on the side being the difference. You'll find a few on eBay and Amazon, all at varying prices. I'm on my 2nd after discovering the 1st doesn't like falling into the bath. If you see one for ~£40-£50 then it might just be worth a plunge. If they're all in the high £80s then wait a short mo and cheaper ones will turn up ![]() I use mine for LBC (live in Leciester, so ain't covered by their London based anteni). |
