Humax 1000S Skip
What are the default time intervals on the forward and backward skips and is it possible to customise the times?

Default I think is 120secs forward and 15secs back.
You cannot customise to an actual specific time of your own choosing, but there are other preset time options. The most you can set at is 240secs so for most program's with ads it only requires one press of the button to skip the lot. |

Do other users think a "User Defined" as per Sky+ box would be a very useful option on the Humax? This would allow the user to jump to any point desired in the recording with a simple press of a button.

I miss the direct time code punch in you get on the Foxsat. Eg watching a recording 0025 jumps straight to 25 minutes.

Sounds similar to Sky's User Defined whereby you just tap the desired mins on the remote and hit select, takes the user to that point. If it is on the Foxsat then why is it missing from the newer model? Sounds to me like someone at Humax/Freesat has been asleep on the job.

Wasn't on the HDR FOX T2 either. Presumably not specified by Freesat as part of the common G2 UI, like loads of other features on the Foxsat (Recording archiving for instance).
Recording/archiving is a whole different argument. Take my Panasonic HW120 as an example. The only input/output on that is a single HDMI. Other manufacturers are starting to follow the same route. From what I read it is all about illegal copying, pirating etc. The scale of it is now so large that Joe Public is having to pay the price for other people's nefarious activities. |
