Is it safe to just unplug a USB device from an android tablet?
Or is there some 'ejection' procedure?
I'm using a Nexus Media Importer on a Nexus 7 connected to a flash drive via OTG cable. I've found a 'Disconnect' option in the app - is that all I need to do? |

Providing the nexus 7 isnt reading or writing it is safe to just whip the lead out.

The problem I'm having is after unplugging one flash drive it won't recognise a different one (or an external HDD) until I power off / power on again.

Did you fully exit the app that was using it? i.e. swipe it away from the recent apps list, or use Exit rather than just the back button?

Yes...I've tried everything I know to ensure that the app is not running before I unplug.
Subsidiary question: has anyone got a portable (unpowered) USB hard drive to work with this app and, if so, which make is it? I understand that the Nexus 7 can't provide enough power for some portable drives. |
