textures are a touch better on one but the frame rate is a touch better on the other (can't recall which way around it was) . Conclusion : not a lot in it.

Textures are a bit sharper and clearer on the PS3 version.
That's about it, it looks super great on both, if you want THE best Graphical version, then PC version on MAX settings with TressFX hair. |

Does it matter as long as it plays?

Was thinking the other day how long until someone mentions comparisions between the 2. This generation will be remembered for that.

As long as there's two or more competing formats on the market there will always be comparisons about which console runs "Game X" better. As for Tomb Raider, i've got both consoles and i went for the PS3 version due to the sharper textures. I never encountered any noticeable frame rate dips either. |

Could not care less about which console runs it better just enjoy the game for the format you brought it for. Never understood comparing surely computer games are purely about entertainment.

You guys were never around during the Mega Drive Vs SNES days, back then, that was a REAL Console War! Where one game could be two completely different games depending on what platform you bought it on!

Other notable past "wars"
Spectrum vs C64 Amiga vs Atari ST etc As for Tomb Raider, PC version crushes both consoles to a pulp

I had a megadrive back then but was more interested in playing the games I had to compare about what system was better. Maybe that's just me.

But surely if given the choice you'd prefer to buy the version that runs better from a technological standpoint? If you've only got one of the consoles then it makes little difference, like you say, just buy the game and enjoy it, you won't notice any difference, but if you've got both consoles you may as well buy the superior version, hence the need for comparisons.

If you own both consoles then that makes a massive difference but I'm refering to people like myself who own one console.

I would take the weaker version so I could play with my friends, even if it was as weak as PS3 version of Orange Box. |
