Hi all,
Just found out that 3D and SuperHD content on Netflix US is not available via Overplay's StartDNS service, yet it is available on Unblock-US and UnoDNS... this is bloody annoying, and the only reason I'm sticking with them is that I need them to access EPL Football via ADMC.
Anyone know when this might happen?

As on the other thread, I believe that they have rolled out SuperHD first with the Brazilian region with the plan to continue with others later.

Why not check with Overplay when they hope to have other regions working with SuperHD (and let us know of course on this thread)

I'm surprised it bothers you this much though. Sure, SuperHD will be a nice added feature, but Netflix's 720p is still pretty damn good as it is. I mean, a good film is all about the story rather than pixels.

As for 3D. May be fun, but I don't like wearing dorky glasses, so this doesn't really mean anything to me. But let us know as well what Overplay say regarding this.

That's correct, apparently SuperHD is available with the Brazil "Locale" but they roll out their standard line of them "being very interested in finding a solution for this problem but there's not ETA at the moment."

Never seen a 3D movie yet so I'm excited to give it a go.
The annoying thing is that they're being slow about rolling the service out, while their main competition rolled the service out a few months ago.

Glad to say that 3d and Super HD content is now available through Smart DNS, on Netflix USA.

Overplay are apparently in the final stages of perfecting SuperHD support for all compatible Netflix regions right at the moment, so it won't be long before it is available to enjoy.

@icebergx, some good news I thought I'd pass on to you. Overplay have told me that they now support Super HD from all of Netflix's libraries. It is possible they are the only smart DNS services that offer all locales as the competition only do so on two or three.

In any event, I was testing this over the last couple of days and it looks great.

You also don't have to be using an "approved" Netflix Open Connect ISP, any, anywhere will do (presuming you have the bandwidth)

From what I understand, the same hardware limitations exist, as this is imposed by Netflix and can't be changed (i.e. PS3, Roku & ATV with 1080p support, selected TVs and Blu-Rays,Nintendo Wii U & WIn8)

I can't tell a difference between HD and super HD, not that I'm complaining. I just can't.

You may not even be looking at Super HD. It will only manifest itself if you are using the right hardware (the ones Netflix supports Super HD, and this is not even many browsers, let alone all set-top boxes), or if you have enough bandwidth - Super HD streams at 5800kbps, and this is when it reaches the highest quality level. There are other levels before which may be all you are getting if your internet speed isn't fast enough.

Then you need a large enough TV. On smaller TV's, it really is hard to tell the difference between 720p and 1080p, at least for most people.

Unless you are going through a smart DNS service, you will need an Netflix Open Connect supported ISP as well.

But even if all those things are working in your favour (which despite what I said, is actually quite possible) then unless you are sitting with two identical screens side by side, it can still be difficult to tell the two resolutions apart.

What helps the most is a large screen. On a big screen 720p and 1080p can look quite different.
