But it could quite possibly get LCN 41 as that hasn't been reallocated.

It is on Crystal Palace as well and the old stream is on 791. Is it nationwide?

The Now/Next information is not updating on the new Film 4 stream.

They've seen sense and put Film 4 on their PSB MUX so it is available to everyone, even Freeview Lite viewers. Well done C4. Finally some sense.

Well presumably this makes Film4 adverts more attractive to advertisers so there is a commercial benefit to C4.

And being on the D3&4 mux means it also has a higher picture resolution now too.

Having said that... can anyone confirm what has actually happened in Wales? Has Film 4 been added to D3&4, or have they taken the opportunity to add E4?

How many viewers are stuck with Freeview Lite as their only terrestrial TV service? I know the percentage of people varies with the region - higher in Wales for example - but it's a few million total at least, isn't it? And where the choice is less, Film4's going to get a greater % of the eyeballs.

Incidentally, this makes the TV channel split in FVL areas look like this:

BBC - 10 channels: BBC One (+HD); BBC Two (+HD); CBBC/BBC Three*; Cbeebies/BBC Four*; BBC News; BBC Parliament; Red Button 301; Red Button 303 HD.

Channel 4 - 6 channels: Channel4 (+HD); Channel4+1; E4; More4; Film4.

ITV - 4 channels: ITV (+HD); ITV+1; ITV 2.

Channel 5 - 1 channel: Channel5

(* combined time sharing channels)

(Yes, I'm a little bored right now)

They could get Freesat but that assumes they even know it exists, which is unlikely due to Freeview being pushed much more.

5 channels - as E4 makes way for S4C in Wales.

(There have been no changes to E4 in Wales according to Digital UK)

Do we really need yet another + channel. The space should go to new channels and new content. If you want back programmes you now have Youview or just buy a PVR..

I do agree with you but with the cost on DTT many services are unwilling to move from pay services or freesat which leave us on freeview kind of stuck.

Yes, 'we' do. I've got a PVR and even though it has two tuners, I still find the +1 channels useful to avoid programme clashes, What I want to watch is always on between 20:00 and 22:00 (or during the night).

I'm sure quite a few would of gone the Sky route as Freeview-lite households would tend to be more likely disatisfied with a smaller list of terrestrial channels.

Its already on freeview as of yesterday on LCN 42, but only an evening channel at the moment, some forum members have said if viewing numbers increase on freeview for it, it could go full time!

My question was largely rhetorical. Quest already shows Toy Hunter and Baggage Battles which doesn't leave much for Travel Channel.

Must admit I was puzzled by the caption on Ch791 which is why I came here.

Ok didnt know you meant it to be rhetorical.

So there is a caption on Film 4 on 791? I gues its to tell people they need to retune or loose the channel soon.
