For anybody who hasn't seen it - here is Avril singing a fantastic acoustic version of HTNGU -

Vocals are spot on.

Here's To Never Growing Up has finally been released in the UK!

It'll be interesting to see how this does because it's airplay has been pretty dismal. Snubbed by basically everybody who isn't Smash Hits Radio, it will pretty much rely on Avril's core loyal fan-base alone. I imagine the general public will have all but forgotten about her Voice as well.

It's currently #13 on iTunes but will very possibly drop like a stone once her fan-base has all purchased their copies.

They waited far too long to release this song in the UK. They should have released it when she was on BGT or when it actually came out worldwide. I would have bought it months ago but they waited too long

I can't believe this was released worldwide over two and a half months ago and the UK are only just getting it today. I saw this on the music channels about six weeks ago and even at that point I thought "has that still not been released yet?".

#11 on iTunes.

Appalling promotion for this song and ridiculous that it's been released so late. Such a shame, had potential to be a summer hit.

I've given up with certain aritists a nd labels. Their release schedule in the UK is absurd getting it a week or 2 later fine up to 2 - 3months later than the rest of the world is just rediculous.

I honestly don't know what some of these labels do for their money! Avril's Voice performance was weeks ago, and I doubt anyone other than a die-hard fan will remember it. Had they released the song that night you would have got at least a few people buying from iTunes while watching the show and word about the song may have spread. No wonder people illegally download when songs take so long to appear legally.

Totally agree why schedule a promo performance and not push the release to coincide. This song has been avaialbe WW for weeks UK fans will not wait but DL it illegally. I just don't get why as the 4th biggest music market in the world and one of the most important we get music months after the rest of the world.

Up until a couple of weeks ago Avicii's 'Wake Me Up' was scheduled for release in the UK in August! only overwhelming public demand (a cover version got in the UK top40, and the proper song hit the iTunes top10 on pre-orders alone) forced a re-think. I can understand leaving a song for up to 3 weeks to build some buzz and let the air-play build...but more than 3 weeks between première and release date is just madness.

In days of old before the advent of digital became such a huge part of the industry it was understandable. Yes there needs to be time for promo but music is digested so quickly these days thatit has got to meet the demands of the consumer. Leaving it til everyone has heard seen and had a chance to rip it is nonsensical in this day and age and a huge reason why singles which could have been huge flop.

It's actually the same with Britney's Ooh La La. It's been out here in Ireland for a few weeks but in the UK they're not getting it until near the end of July (around 29th IIRC). The song's online now and other countries have got it but yet they still haven't released it in the UK. It's ridiculous really. Maybe they need to make more use of the on-air/on-sale release method.

That song is released just a few days before The Smurfs 2 opens in cinemas, so I guess the wait for it makes sense, it has something that it can time its release with. But I think there was no excuse to delay HTNGU this long. That plus the promotion for it has been abysmal, I seldom hear it on radio stations or see it on music channels. Shame really, it could've been a big hit and now it looks like it'll be lucky to ever reach Top 10.

That in itself works rarely for aritsts too the on air/on sale. It always makes me lugh WW release date then beaneth it UK release date some 2 months later But seriously it is something that needs addressing there has got to be a simpler way

Maybe they need to release songs in the UK a week or even at the same time as the rest of the world gets them. It doesn't seem fair that UK fans get new music last. Even here in Ireland we get stuff quicker.

The promotion has been awful, I'm a huge fan and had to keep searching on when it was coming out.

Bought it now anyway, and it's at #10 in the UK midweek chart.

I love this SO much and I genuinely don't like "pop" much that much.

The "running down the street...living like that" section is amazing.

So Here's To Never Growing Up peaks in at #14 (her highest single peak since 2007).

I'm rather pleased with that considering it's terrible airplay and support (it's #1371 in the airplay charts - on release week!!!). It's going to drop down the charts like a 5 ton boulder of course, but still.
