I have never watched his show either, I was half thinking of doing so but then I remembered I had a soul. I see Lexi's weary eyes every time she does the reviewage and I'm not strong enough to put myself through that
As long as he's just being a plank, I'm fine with him. It's when it descends into the 'beating over the head' exploitative misery stuff that it become a major pain to watch. I like my Pete full of 'Next Stop Wembley!' and 'That's a guaranteed No.1', not the dross that the last and latest series (to date) has coughed up. I'm hoping it will ease up from now on and we'll have some 'quality footage' to discuss.

I understand he must be feeling awful after his brothers death.. But surely all the family are yet all I hear is how it's affecting Peter .. Like the rest haven't been affected as much as him.. That's not right.. I feel so sad for his parents.losing a child at any age is heartbreaking

How pathetic. Ignore it, Betty, anyone who baits for 'fun' is not worth a second's mindspace.

I have to admit, I didn't mind Andre (I wont go as far as to say like) at the start, when it was all 'I'm a serious musician' and he seemed like a harmless baffoon. He was a bit like the daddy longlegs that lives in the corner of my bathroom, annoying when you notice its there, you wish it would move on, and yet I don't quite have the heart to smack it over the head with a newspaper. No offence to your reviewage, its still brilliant, but its really hard to fully revel in it when its about exploiting a family tragedy, not a as been desperate for the lime light.

Have a look at the abuse that Ian Hyland gets for pointing that out on twitter. The sad thing is, for the people who fall for it, they really believe there is a need to see and share that stuff.

That's the bit I find hard to swallow .. This continued use of Andrews death as a "theme" ( I couldn't decide what word to use but chose this sorry if it offends) for the show .. I don't expect him not to talk about his brother cos that is stupid but to base everything on it will have people switching off

No amount of nasty digs will put me off.. If they think I will run away in tears..they don't know me ..I'm made of tougher stuff than that
Thanks for support .. This is a place were we are all entitled to an opinion..even if we don't like it.. I enjoy debating with people .. Most of those I don't share the same opinion with are great and it's a pleasure disagreeing
But sadly others have hidden agenda's but I CAN see that
What little I've seen of the pair of them together, I didn't feel any great chemistry between them, I get the impression that she was something different that offered balm to his soul.... I think he is so unsettled in his head that his isn't capable of a relationship with someone stable...

or perhaps she doesn't want to be seen to be bringing her future profession into disrepute, by allowing him to dry hump her, and keep sticking his tongue down her throat...

That's the real problem. There was nothing remotely funny about the latter part of the last series or the current series to date, which makes it parody-free, and why it's so difficult to find the laughs. But, as I see it, that's his problem, not ours, not mine. If he continues to do what he's doing, then he'll just have to suck it up. Them's the brakes.

Bit late for that - she's already been seen with him in public.
I'm sure turning up for a medical conference with an orange, middle-aged has-been, his manager, entourage, hangers-on and film crew will be utterly dignified.

I think its shows what we have become when someones gets abuse for saying that. They wouldn't be able to make money of it if people didn't buy into it. I know voyeurism has always been around, and heck I am just as guilty of it as they next person, but seriously is nothing sacred? If a family tragedy isn't too low then what is? Next series are we going to watch Pete on the loo of cutting his pubes or what??? Have we really reached a stage where nothing is private and everything is a commodity?

why are his fans not standing up to this? Not saying 'Look Pete, we like you but this is too much!'

Its a real testament to your talents Lexi that, despite the grim subject matter, the rate of laughs in your reviewage hasn't really suffered.

I ended up back in this thread because a FB friend 'liked' this link of him with the young girl who died.... now if his fans are anything like this FB friend of mine; she watches every soap on TV, Jeremy Kyle, reality TV etc etc.... I stand in disbelief about some of the stuff she comes out with, she raves about PA and how cruel KP was and what a s**t she is etc etc... she was absolutely devestated when she found out PA had been at a local ski centre with his kids near to where we live (she missed the chance to tell him what a devoted fan she was)... trying to cut it short.... she's 65ish, has real issues of her own.... I wonder if he has many fans of this type but on the other hand just dont see how any one with any credibility and intelligence can fall for the BS CAN spews out.... what other types are buying into him and paying his wages

and I keep her as a FB friend because she lives within close proximity and would cause me aggro, and cause offence if I deleted her..... which I'd love to do

If that happened it would be a win win situation.. Di60 wouldn't have to put up with her posts about Andre and not have the guilt of deleting her either

There are huge amounts of people who do not question things. That is how spin doctors work, why propaganda works and how people like Tony Blair get elected. Look at the way that some newspapers tell their readership what they need to be outraged at, and how quickly that has an impact.

The flip side are the equally closed minded who believe that every conspiracy theory is a fact.

As people, we are used to stories having good vs evil, with good triumphing. Therefore, everything is seen within those black and white, narrow constraints. Whereas, the truth is, that all things are shades of grey and often there is no one cause, but very many, no blameless vs guilty.

That was a little deep, huh?

I feel sad that people fall for it, but then think, "if it brings a little joy into their lives" but then I remember that their hard earned cash is going towards another sports car, or that they will never be able to afford the holidays that he doesn't even pay for, or that their husbands can't take their kids on a "DOTY DAY OUT" because the poor sod has to pay, to queue, to deal with the realities and I get grumpy again.

TL:dr, right?
