With most meals of meat & two veg type e.g. steak, chips & peas or a roast dinner, I try to get a mouthful of everything on most bites. If it's a good quality steak then I will concentrate more on the steak but every few bites it'll be a bit of everything on the fork.
It may be different with a burger & chips where I will eat the burger first and just nibble a few chips throughout then if i'm still hungry i'll finish off the chips.
But I have two friends who use opposite strategies.
e.g. Steak & chips
One will eat the steak first because that is the main bulk of the meal (and the expensive part).
The other will eat the accompniaments first, leaving the steak until the end. The logic being that he'll eat the steak because it's the most expensive thing on the plate and that he's left it until last to savour it.
