What to do when cookies turn into cakes?
A bit of an exaggeration, but I've tried to make cookies using a recipe I found online (which had good comments under it) and they turned out cakey and cooled to be quite hard.
I assume I am doing something wrong while making them, but what? Any advice? And anyone have a recipe which they've tried? I want to make chewy cookies.

It sounds like you baked them for too long.... if you want chewy cookies then knock 5 mins off the baking time.

I made these this week, had no chocolate chips so just chopped up a bar of dairy milk. They were really nice, and chewy.
http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1...cookies-recipe This is a Heston recipe, if you want to faf on it works well too. http://www.londonbakes.com/2011/10/h...p-cookies.html |
