4oD Now On Samsung Smart Hub!
ovbg

Wow, this completes the line-up of UK FTA channels to have catch-up services on the Samsung Hub.

Looks good and plays well, I have to say.

Works on my ES6900 series and I'm interested to see what other models it is working on.

A review can be found here which includes the new Samsung 4oD TV app.

Got it!

Still waiting for the promised ITV Player on my D-Series though.

Cool, what model is your TV (trying to create a list of compatible TVs)

I have a Samsung D6530 and the catch-up apps work fine.

Thanks for that obvg, it never occurs to me to check through the apps on my samsung - (samsung apps tab and under video, need to scroll through for anyone else as numb as me) Got it now and it works beautifully - picture quality is much better than the itv app.

That's quite a low benchmark!

I can stream things off my phone that look better than itv!

I have the UE32D5520.

BBC iPlayer and 4OD are good.

ITV Player not available and Demand 5 is broken.

Does anyone else have aspect ratio issues with 4:3 shows?

Not sure if Brass Eye was 4:3 originally, but it looks stretched to 16:9 on my 16:9 TV.

I can't find an option to get it to go to 4:3.

It won't give access to picture size when it's on - can convert to 3d though

Something that could get very annoying - when it loses signal a massive white banner appears, disappears soon enough but still, I'd sooner just have a brief freeze or a little circle than that.

A little workaround I've found: start up the programme you want to watch, then press return when the adverts kick in. Start the programme again, and the first lot of adverts will be gone. The ones in the middle of the program will still be there though.

Initially I was thrilled to see 4OD on the Smart Hub, but this has turned to disappointment as it's easily the buggiest offering from the 4 main operators.

I can rarely get past the adverts; last time 5 re-loads, 18 adverts and still no further than the buffering wheel. And yes I've tried re-installing to no avail.

A shame as the interface is nice as is pic quality but the app is as useless as the analogue tuner!

^^ Question, which model do you have? I ask as it is working perfectly on my ES6900 series, but I have heard of other people having a similar situation as you - maybe you all have similar models?

My model is UE40D5520. My TV just loads and plays the adverts then goes back to the Smarthub screen. I have tried to use it many many times but always without success. Maybe my TV is too old at 18 months?

^ could be. 4oD and Samsung claim compatibility only on 2012 models (or above). Isn't the D series a 2011 model?

Does anyone know if 4OD is available on the D6600?
