Love depeche mode, quite like the new single.
wouldn't say they were the best british group by a mile but then i guess that's opinion.
are they not a huge though? didn't think they were unrecognised, not seen them live but i've seen a couple of videos on youtube and they play to massive audiences

DM are huge practically everywhere but the UK, where for some reason they can't shake off their early 80's electropop beginnings.

They are brilliant live, Dave Gahan really comes alive in front of an audience.

I absolutely adore Depeche Mode!

I've been avoiding videos and the leak of the new album as I want to enjoy it in CD quality when it finally arrives from Amazon as I pre-ordered it at the start of the month.

I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for a Dublin date on their upcoming tour as the last 2 times they performed over here they were AMAZING!!!!

I've heard some of the new album and from what I've heard it's much more memorable than anything off their last album. Not quite the pop perfection that was Violator but the songs I've heard so far are as emotive of that album as anything they've put out since then.

Best British group by a mile - No they're not...
Best live band by a mile - No they're not...
Criminally unrecognised for their achievements for over 30 years - Probably.

That is all.

I could list hundreds of bands that I would put ahead of them... biggest one of them all, The Beatles, being just one of them.

"Best British group by a mile"

Nonsense.

I'm definitely a fan! When is the album officially released? Is there anywhere that I can stream it or hear clips?

Love the Mode. Thing is , the darker they got, the more I loved them!

Although it did coincide with Dave's troubles.

I see the German audience of today has a little more energy than 30 years ago, lol

all joking aside, DM has been a part of my life since Speak & Spell and A Broken Frame way back in 1981 and was very influential to me in growing up.

Can't say I've followed or have been massively excited by much they've done in the past 10 years ("Precious" in 2005 may have been the last song I've enjoyed), but I will always consider them to be one of my top 5 bands/groups ever.
