I purchased an ebook from Waterstones a few days ago, then found I had to download Adobe Digital Editions to access the book. I downloaded it onto my laptop ok but I wanted to access the book on my tablet as well. I found that my tablet wasn't compatible with ADE so phoned Waterstones to find out if there was any way to convert the ebook to another format. I was advised to download 'Overdrive Media Console' from the Play Store, which I did and am now able to access the ebook. I know there are lots of ereaders but this is for anyone who purchases an ebook that requires ADE and their tablet isn't compatible. Also OMC allows you to 'borrow' books from your local library if they've signed up to this sort of lending. You do need to be a member of said library. Unfortunately it seems my local library isn't running this scheme as I was unable to find it through OMC

I'm no expert (and probably about to demonstrate this) but what tablet do you have (android or the other one).

I have an android tablet and have aldiko (free app) and can read digiital editions books.

Oh well you know better than me, the book is on Aldiko too . Thanks for that . I didn't even think about it as I wasn't aware of that when I went to download it from Waterstones so as it said I'd need to download ADE and I couldn't download onto my android tablet I phoned Waterstones I said. I put it on here as I thought I was being helpful. Still it's worth knowing about OMC and the fact some people will be Abe to borrow books from their library if it's signed up to the project.
