Really Jimmy...the show picks the genre, and the singer picks the song! Since when! or is this a new idea

Since pretty much always. Is why the judges rant on and on about song choice. Simon Cowell certainly used to. Is X-Factor where the songs get picked for them.

Terrible final sing-off for Paul, shame he's such a nice guy. I wouldn't buy his album but I'd like to see him on TV again.

If the contestants always pick their own song why pick songs that they have never heard of? (If they are criticised th
at is their usual excuse " I've never heard this song before)

I have no idea - makes you wonder though.

Certainly it becomes possible to understand why Jimmy Iovine is frustrated when these kids start saying they don't know any Beatles songs - there's a Beatles round on Idol every year - you'd think they'd do some prep?!!

I think Lazaro deserved to go tonight, mind you I don't think Jolley should have gone much further either.

I feel bad for Amber, she didn't have a great night but still better than Lazaro by far. I'm afraid he is going to be carried on for a while by the sympathy vote.

Here, There, Everywhere by the girls was beautifully done, and a great fun performance by Casey. Candice was the best of the contestants but apart from that, leave the Beatles alone! So poor from almost everyone else.

America seems to be making the right decisions so far, apart from Lazaro where they are voting with their heart and not with their ears. If we lost Amber while Lazaro stayed, I would not be amused.

The girls are so far superior to the boys this year, I am finding it hard to choose my favourite so it will have to be on the performance on the night.

As for Lazaro and Paul, they were dire so I agree with the result.

I agree that those two were the worst, but I'd have binned Lazaro in a heartbeat.

I felt sorry for Lazaro - he seems so fragile. I think the young girl vote is saving him though. He came fourth last week in the vote.
