Do your cats like the snow? My 2 old ones just go out and do what they have to do, then come straight back in. My little ones, Marley, if i try and put her outside, she bombs it straight back into the house, but Florence goes out and has an absolute ball. She runs about like an total nutter, diving in and out, getting totally covered in it, its hilarious.

Marley sits and watches her at the window, I dont think she can get her head around the fact that you can have fun in it, to her it is just freezing lol.

My cat doesn't really like it. He goes out for his business but prefers to be indoors when it snows.
I tried taking him out into the snow a few times but he finds my footsteps and uses them to get back indoors again. He's smart and knows what he doesn't like.

I like the way some cats in the snow take a step then shake a paw, take a step then shake a paw, etc. It's hilarious to watch as they're so straight faced about it. Cats are so funny anyway like the silent film comedian Buster Keaton who did the most crazy slapstick stuff all with a straight face.

I might let my kitten have a taste of snow today. He has only been out a couple of times and we lost him the last time so I might put him on a lead

My cats loved the snow back when we had it in January, even if the little gits did treat it as one big litter tray, and when it melted I discovered all the little piles of poo

Just a little word of warning, keep an eye on your cats paws, one of my cats ended up with a cracked pad due to the cold, and ended up on antibiotics because it got infected. Try and dry their feet if you can when they've been out for ages.

Good advice - because of the bad weather we've been having I always dry my cat's coat off with an old towel as well as his paws. Sometimes when he comes in he feels like a block of ice and his ears are always the coldest.

Bill only likes it when he can lay down and get his tummy nice and warm so snow gets a glance and a walk back in the hope his bed is still warm.
Jenny will give it at best ten minutes and then rushes back inside and groomes for about twenty minutes followed by two hours sleeping.
Alf will play in the snow for about twenty minutes which seems to be about chasing around and jumping on things only he can see. He then has to pee but in his case he seems to have no controll of where it's going so although he is trying to hit the garden fence (big enough) he sprays more upwards and has hit himself more than once. He rushes in, has a quick check to see if one of the three food bowls have any food left in them and then a quick wash and along sleep.
So three cats with three views on snow.

My cat hates it!

I cannot keep my cat out of it, he dug a big hole in a drift today and fell asleep in it for a couple of hours.

My younger cat loves the snow, she goes out and tests the depth first and if it's not too deep she suddenly scampers through it at top speed, stops suddenly then does the same in a different direction. My older cat is not fussed and only goes out in the snow if she need to do her business.

Mine hates it. On Saturday when we had the big snowfall, there was about 8 inches of snow outside. She tentatively put her paws into it and then sunk to her belly which freaked her out and she did this bizarre run, jump, fit type of walk and immediately jumped on the kitchen windowsill. After 2 minutes she was hammering on the window like she was in the depths of hell, whining and screaming. But she wouldn't come back inside as she daren't go in the snow!

In the end, I had to get my wellies on, in my dressing gown and go and collect her and carry the little madam in like a good slave.

What a lovely analogy. Mine aren't keen, but I do admire how enterprising they can be. In a bid to keep her precious paws dry, I watched her squeeze herself right up against the wall of the house, where there remained a tiny one inch, snowfree gap....tiptoeing around the edge like a ballerina in Swan Lake. Then afterwards, belted back in the house, faster than Usain Bolt!
