Start something else to amuse us all

Mine would have to be the use of the word Rock in a song such as (sorry just cant bring myself to post a link to it) Def Leppard Lets Get Rocked, makes me absolutely cringe

Joke answer - Slayer

Serious answer - misogyny - bands that have song titles like Stripped, Raped & Stranged or F*cked With A Knife.

Oh and really wa*nky 'shocking' band names like Dying Foetus etc Go away, you silly little boys

Particularly as that song uses "rocked" as a very heavy-handed euphemism for "f***ed". The "I s'pose a rock's out of the question?" line was sub-Carry On innuendo.

I've always had a bit of a soft spot for them. Not least because they kept their drummer after he lost an arm.

"He said
Mow the lawn - Who, me?
Walk the dog - Not my style, man!
Take out the trash - No way!
Tidy your room - C'mon get real!
Sorry dad, gotta disappear,
Let's get the rock outta here. "

Thus confirming the stereotype of Rock fans living with their parents and having untidy bedrooms. The Leps really weren't doing their fans any favours in the early 90s.

Adrenalize was a massive letdown after Pyromania and Hysteria in so many 'rockin' ways.

The worst thing about Metal for me was Limp Bizkit.

Lmao! Was the logo all bushy, spiky and incoherent?!

Another vote for the naffness that are Def Leppard. It's the way how Elliott pronounces his words, it's ROCK, not RAWK!

I love reading through Metal Hammer & laughing at the band names & logos Maybe I'm just easily amused

Here's a good example. Who the hell is that on after Shitechapel on the Sunday? http://www.bloodstock.uk.com/events/boa-2013/stages Can anyone read that band name? The one on before Accept on the friday too. Is that Voivod?

Surprised nobody's mentioned Manowar yet.

Yeah this ^

I was going to try and say something clever like I don't like music that's just loud for the sake of being loud or swears alot just to sound bad-ass. If it has those things it's got to mean something.

But Limp Bizkit was pretty much my most loathed band for a good long while, so I'll say that.

Those 2 are fairly tame, I've seen a lot worse! That's a great little festival btw, been going to it for a few years now.

The notion of being the most "kvlt" or "tr00", in which as soon as a band gets any form of exposure it is not possible to like them anymore, and makes the bands "less metal".
