Versus Tablet-Any good?

I'm thinking of getting the 10 inch Versus tablet next week.
There are not many reviews of it so I was wondering if anybody on here owns one?

There are a couple of reviews at the bottom of the page (Amazon):

I think Maplin also stock them.

Thanks for the link Mr Cool. I've already seen the Amazon reviews.

I'll be getting it from John Lewis as I work there and I will get 12% partner discount

It's also worth reading user reviews on Argos and Reevoo as well as Amazon for their other tablet products as well so that you can get a feel for how the brand is overall for reliability, user satisfaction, etc. Versus seems to do better in user reviews (as does Archos) than really cheap end tablet makes like Go Tab and Joy Tab.

Thank you TelevisionUser, I forgot all about Reevoo. I might check Trusted Reviews as well.

Versus aren't so much a tablet manufacturer, they re-brand Chinese tablets (just like Archos). They vary in quality so some are good value for money, others aren't. You can't even guarantee all of Versus' tablets come from the same factory.

Basically, check reviews for each individual model as some can be good, others not so much. Also, you can find reviews for equivalent models that simply are just branded differently.

Hope this helps.

I bought 2 of those for my granddaughters for Christmas after reading lots of really good reviews on the Argos website (they seem to have disappeared now or maybe it's just me I can't find the reviews now). One had to be exchanged which was fine, no problems with exchanging it, but I had a text from one of my grandduaughters this morning saying when she switched hers off last night it came back on - this happened twice. And that her sister's isn't charging properly. I'm going to suggest they reset them - I think there's a reset button on the back, hopefully this will work. Just thought I'd mention these problems if it's the same as the Versus tablet under a different brand name.
The main problem really is, though they're guaranteed for a year it's actually exchanging them as they live too far from me to make it worthwhile posting them and for their mum to take them back to Argos you have to consider the cost of petrol as there isn't a store that close - not too far but it shouldn't really cost you anything to return faulty items. I bought them online so I suppose I could get Argos to pay for the postage but then how long would it take them to have a look at them and either fix them or send a new one out.

Well, I brought the Versus Touchpad 10.1 and I am well pleased so far except...........many apps keep uninstalling themselves.

Is this an Android thing as I often get the same problem with my Samsung Galaxy S2?

I've just bought a Versus 7" tablet from PC World and I am looking to get a Mini HDMI cable to connect it to a large screen tv. I have looked on Amazon but there seems to be many different cables to choose from - the one I think I might get is a 1.8 metre HDMI A Male - Mini C Male but I am not sure if this is the correct one -. The instruction manual doesn't give any help either.

Could somebody please give me some help?

Many thanks

Yes that's the cable you want.

This one would be fine.

Cable ordered earlier today, many thanks.

On another point, if I stayed in a Travelodge and wanted to use my tablet on the internet I would be expected to pay £5 for 1 hour or £10 for 24 hours or £20 for 1 week. I have connected my tablet to the Sky Cloud system could I still use the Sky Cloud for free instead of using Travelodge's internet connection?

Many thanks

You can only use the Sky Cloud if there is coverage in that area - otherwise you would need to use the Travelodges.

When I was looking at tablets in Currys, the guy helping me told me that reliability is an issue with versus.
