You seem to have both Bonnie and George twice, and no Glyn or Spiral. Poor guys.

Why?

Many of the posters who were around during BB7 have long gone from here, and many of them were supporters of the more colourful characters.
Times have changed quite a lot since BB7, and we now see the likes of Imogen doing consistently better in BB7 related polls than she did back when it was being played out.

As you know, back then, on here her supporters could have all got into the back of a Taxi.
Being my fav of that series i thought she was very harshly judged, but at the same time i also thought it showed that BB was in very good health if hm's like Imogen were being overlooked and under appreciated.”

What does Imogen have to do with what I said about Susie and Sam?

The main change in what people thought of Imogen came before bb7 was over, though too late to save her vs Richard. She was harshly judged -- not because the rest of the cast was good but because she was on the 'wrong' side at the start (and wasn't fully trusted thereafter, until she was in the HND) and because she was in bed with Sezer so quickly. If she's more popular now, I think that's largely due to Aisleyne fans changing to liking her. (They are still a strong presence, perhaps even more, proportionally, than before, which is why Ash finally won the all time ranking poll.)

(I think it's good that they like her, btw. Their friendship was one of the more interesting things about the later part of bb7, imo.)

And I think that rather than supporters of the more colourful characters becoming a lower proportion of those who post here, they've become a larger one. I think that explains such things as why bb6 now tends to be seen as one of the best series, rather than as one of the worst.

I suspect Bonnie was picked for some of the same reasons BB picked Lesley the year before; and I think Bonnie had the potential to become quite unpleasant. I don't think she'd have brought anything interesting to the series. However, since she was picked, she should have had more of a chance. The week 1 twists just waste the HM who goes, and it must be awful for them.

Yes, the bb7 cast was pretty poor, overall.

I was just saying that if there's something wrong about Susie and Sam being rated higher than they deserve, then the same applies to Imogen these days, and that it's a sign of the times.

As i said, Imogen's supporters could all have got into the back of a Taxi during BB7, and ''normal, quiet hm's'' were loathed, but things have changed since then, and for the worse imho.
You can now doze in bed for half your time and still win.
At onetime, the likes of a Conor would have either been booted out by BB, or evicted with a huge percentage at the first time of asking.

Btw. What evidence is there to say that Imogen's increased support was down to Ash's supporters?
You remember the call for her fans to support Imogen against Richard in their head to head. Without exception. Ash's fans said they were going to suppport Richard, despite what went on in the HND and the weeks and weeks that Ash and Imogen had become close mates.

OK, I see your point now (though I think Imogen's more deserving of a high rating than Sam or Susie, and certainly of a higher rating than she had with most people for most of bb7).

There are kinda two parts: (1) Has there been a big change in how Ash's supporters think of Imogen. (2) If so, is that why we see Imogen "doing consistently better in BB7 related polls than she did back when it was being played out."

So, re (1), do you think there hasn't been such a change? I think there clearly has been, though there might be some disagreement about precisely when it happened. Look at this thread, for example, and compare to when Imogen faced Richard during bb7 (and before). Most of those who put Aisleyne first in this thread have Imogen high as well and most (though not quite so many) even have her above Richard. I think the "all time ranking" polls will back this up as well. Those who rate Ash highly now tend to like Imogen too.

What brought about the change? I think, and thought at the time, that it was largely due to things that happened when Richard and Imogen were in the HND -- such as Imogen saying she liked Ash better than Grace and Richard getting along so well with Grace -- and after Richard returned to the house. The contrast made it clear, as other things seemingly hadn't, that it was Imogen who was Ash's friend, not Richard,

Exactly when the change happened in less clear, except for it being too late to save Imogen vs Richard.

Re (2), people who liked Ash as a HM are still a good proportion of the forum and perhaps even more of those who vote in BB7 related pools.

Results Time!

1st Place = Aisleyne! (400 points) (Very controversial hm, lots of 22's but a few 1's aswell)
2nd Place = Glyn! (385 points) (Fairly high ranking all round)
3rd Place = Imogen! (375 points)
4th Place = Pete! (348 points)
5th Place = Nikki! (327 points) (Again a fairly controversial housemate)
6th Place = Richard! (311 points)
7th Place = Jonathan! (287 points) (This surprised me somewhat considering he was never a fully fledged housemate but well done to him!)
8th Place = Mikey! (278 points)
9th Place = Michael! (275 points)
10th Place = Jennie! (273 points)
11th Place = Lea! (264 points)
12th Place = Bonnie! (257 points) (Really happy about this, well done Bonnie!)
13th Place = Grace! (253 points)
14th Place = Susie! (244 points)
15th Place = Lisa! (238 points)
16th Place = Sam! (206 points)
17th Place = George! (203 points)
18th Place = Shahbaz! (186 points)
19th Place = Dawn! (185 points)
20th Place = Spiral! (181 points)
21st Place = Jayne! (167 points)
22nd Place = Sezer! (159 points)

Thanks to everyone who took part, this has been a great series to do!
These results mean that Aisleyne joins the final, alongside Anna, Helen, Alex, Federico, Victor and Makosi.

See you all in the BB8 popularity contest!

Awesome. I was predicting an Imogen win before this started as Aisleyne was bound to get a few bottom scores and 22 places is a big drop. But I'm happy she could pull it off anyway.
Surprised Glyn got above Imogen, I guess DS really is digging him now.
Guess we should be satisfied with the series in general because the top 6 in this all made the final 7.

BB8 is going to be unpredictable as there's alot of housemates to consider. I think I can guess who will be last.

Possibly the most infamous housemate to DS. lol
Then again, they may have the odd fan on here and get a respectable score that elevates them above last place.

The best thing about these rankings is the more series you do the more posters will take part, as the newer series will be fresh in people's minds.

But there have been lots of fm's favs who had 'good mates' in their respective series, but the 'friend' of the fm fav didn't see their popularity rise because of that friendship, so why should it have made a difference to Imogen being mates with Ash

Also. Though i'm also pleased to see Imogen being more liked today as a hm, but it's pretty meaningless all the same.

But is important and what i thought was really unfair back then was not so much she wasn't very popular, but the fact that back then there were quite a lot of fm's and the rent a mobs in the Brand audiance who thought there was no place for the more quiet, normal people in a show like BB.
I hated to hear people say things like that.

If two HMs are friends throughout a series (and viewers see them as friends), then there's no change in that aspect that would cause a corresponding change in popularity. But there was a change in that aspect where Ash and Imogen are concerned. Imogen was considered a "plastic" and was disliked accordingly; and then, after the main "plastics" had been eliminated, Imogen wasn't really trusted, and for a long time, there wasn't a good enough opportunity for her to demonstrate that she really was on Ash's side. Once it did become clear she was genuinely Ash's friend, and that Richard wasn't, Imogen's popularity changed accordingly.

And we do see some big changes in popularity based on which group a HM is in or which HM(s) they're friends with. (Consider the big swings in opinion about bb13's Sara, for example, depending how she seemed re Deana.)
