Last chance to Record BBC HD TestCard(s)

Overnight tonight, 2am to 5am on BBCHD, being the early morning on Tuesday 26th March 2013

BBCHD Channel 169 on SKY, also on Freeview HD.

And other suppliers too.

I've setup my SKY+HD and Freeview HD PVR's to record in 30 minute segments 2am to 5am.

There is also an introduction to BBC2HD 5am to 6am same day.

Not sure if that's on SKY Channel 169 or 142

Same for Freeview HD Channels and other suppliers

Details of the HD Testcard(s) here...

I've already recorded the Sync Test this afternoon and will be setting my PVR to grab the last moments of BBC HD, a chunk in the middle to get the test cards and then grab the start of BBC2 HD.

Got the final afternoon sync test, right after Brian Cox in the preview.

Interrupted by a BBC2 HD promo screen with randomly coloured backgrounds... just like I used to do on my old Sinclair Spectrum... that was close, programmes started at 4pm.

I'm recording all of it, and I'll delete unwanted segments tomorrow.

I already have locked 5 minute Testcards from overnights before on SKY+HD & Freeview HD

So far I have set up this to try and cover all the important bits:

BBC HD 01:10 - 02:10 - End of BBC HD
BBC HD 02:55 - 03:35 - BBC HD Test Cards
BBC HD 04:55 - 06:30 - Start of BBC Two HD

I can edit the bit's I want out tomorrow.

Will that work? If the channel number changes to 142 and the Sky box is set to record 169, what happens? Just tried to set it myself and wondered...

It [should] select the right transponder and continue recording from that. The Sky number is only where it appears on the EPG and whilst that may change, the transponder is the same.

Basically the EPG just points to that same transponder no matter where they move the EGP listing to.

    (Hopefully!)

I'm HTPC based so no such problems here. it will just record everything straight to my PC's to my hard drive. I will rename the same transponder to BBC2 HD tomorrow.

I've just set the Sky+HD to record at 01:15-03:00 and then from 05:55-06:07.

Thinking about it, I am not just recording in 30 minute segments, but various 10 & 15 minute segments also.

Then I'll choose the best one(s) to keep on my HDD

I have had a pop-up on BBCHD Freeview, that said I shouldn't need to retune, once BBC2HD becomes active.

Perhaps it's the same for SKY+HD too.

I have nearly 600 GiB free, plenty to record the whole show and chop out bits I want to keep. :)

Ive set my Sky+ HD PVR too and am hoping nothing goes amiss during the epg LCN change. I wonder what time it will change? Im guessing it might be for the intro to BBC2 HD at 5am I may be wrong but it seems logical to me.

A complete set of BBC HD station Idents before going to a static holding card with changing coloured background giving info on the change to the channel.

Think they could have at least added a goodbye message not just BBC2 HD info.

Did they say test cards from about 1:30?
