Which LOTR Character Are You?

Which LOTR character are you like in your opinion and why?

I am a cross between Goldberry of course, Tom Bombadil's wife - I can be very feminine, I like the countryside and animals and when I can afford them I like beautiful girly dresses and skirts (live in jeans mostly).

I'm like Eowyn - in that I can be quite courageous and I like a good adventure - and I fall in love a lot with unsuitable men.

What's your character?

I know some of them:
Eonwe - warrior, courageous and strength in battle.
Glorfindel - courageous Elf lord who fought the Ringwraiths
Beren - wolf slayer
Durin - dwarf king
Melkor - Lord of Darkness who embraced his dark side - known as Morgoth by the Elves, filled with pride, tall as a tower, dwells in the void.

So I assume you're courageous with a bit of a dark side?

I would say so, with a love of nature as Yavanna was the equivalent of Mother Nature in Tolkien's Legendarium.

I'm quite like a hobbit too - I like my comfort, food and I'm not very big - although I haven't hairy feet, not yet anyway.

Tolkien also thought of himself as a Hobbit.
I am in fact a Hobbit in all but size. I like gardens, trees, and unmechanized farmlands; I smoke a pipe, and like good plain food (unrefrigerated), but detest French cooking; I like, and even dare to wear in these dull days, ornamental waistcoats. I am fond of mushrooms (out of a field); have a very simple sense of humor (which even my appreciative critics find tiresome); I go to bed late and get up late (when possible). I do not travel much.

Glorfindel features in The Lord of the Rings and The Silmarillion

Bandobras is a legendary hobbit mentioned in The Hobbit.

Durin is mentioned in the appendices.

The others are all from The Silmarillion. Melkor and Beren the most prominent of those mentioned. Melkor in particular is the equivalent of Lucifer in Tolkien's mythos and the cause of everything that happens. It was he who corrupted Sauron originally.
Beren is Tolkien's most beloved male character, that name along with 'Luthien' is engraved on his and his wife Edith's gravestone.

He appears at the beginning and aids Frodo and co in defeating the Nazgul at that particular juncture in the story. Arwen took his place in the film during that particular scene. He also appears at the Council of Elrond. That's the last we hear of him, although he is alluded to in the Last Debate.

He's probably my favourite of all the elves after Feanor. He was also killed in the First Age by a Balrog but apparently got a second chance for some reason. I think it would be kind of cool if, knowing that Glamdring (Gandalf's sword) once belonged to Turgon, Sting once belonged to Glorfindel.
