Well there'll be another mini-whovian added to the ranks in April. My other half has ruled out every Who related name I've suggested but she can't stop little bump being a fan. It's a fixed point.
I'm already in the bad books due to my 4 year old daughter knowing half the answers on the Pointless Who special, not to mention her dinner time spaghetti-Ood impressions.
The missus thinks 4 year old is too young to watch Who but I absolutely love cuddling up on the settee with Lily to watch it and it's added a whole new perspective to the show for me. I'm far less critical and more 'along for the ride'. When Lily was asked by her mum if she found it scary she just answered "It's make believe Mummy". A better grasp of the show than a lot of adult fans then?
Do my fellow Whovians think 4 is too young and at what age did you start to watch the show?
Oh, and how cool are these Doctor Who related baby clothes?

I started at 10/11, apparently. Though I know I was aware of the show before then. But a huge billboard in the centre of Blackburn ensured my first proper viewing when 'Rose' arrived.

I actually got into "Doctor Who" by reading the WH Allen/Target novelizations in the
Cork City Library. I actually started watching the show by viewing the
BBC2/UK Gold repeats when I was 13.

Interesting-there are some fans who've started watching when Matt Smith was the
Doctor, and there are also some fans who can still remember watching when
William Hartnell was the Doc.

Who'd be the Doctors that most people started watching the show with? My guess
is Jon, Tom and David.

However old I was when the Sylvester McCoy episode with the Rani and some underground tunnels and some sort of green monsters and Bonnie Langford trapped in a bubble aired!

Aha! seems i was 7 years old. I may have watched some prior to that, but that's my first clear memory of watching Who

I remember seeing some of the Sylv stories advertised, but we had only one TV back then, and my parents ensured
that any show that clased with "Coronation Street" or
the soccer match was out of bounds.

I was born in 72 and the first full episode I remember was Destiny, but I remember snippets from lots before then. My earliest are of mummies and zygons, so I'll have been 3. My nephews have all watched it from being about that age, either snuggled up with one of us or, a bit older, behind the sofa, as is tradition!

I remember watching the last couple of McCoy seasons when I was five and six, respectively, but true fandom began when I was seven, and saw Genesis on holiday in Spain - it was in Spanish, so I had no idea what was happening, but I loved it enough to get Ark In Space and Terror Of The Zygons for Christmas on VHS that year...

I started watching doctor who since I was 3, the first doctor I saw was Patrick Troughton and I am not sure which episode it could have been the wheel in space or the mind robber

My earliest memory of the show was seeing Jon Pertwee regenerate into Tom Baker. I was only 5 and had never seen anything like it. I was hooked.

I was 11 when Rose aired, 8 years ago today, but i knew of the show before then...

It's amazing to think how much we've had over the last 8 years - 3 doctors, several companions, brand new and old enemies and a whole universe of adventure

Long may it continue

Age 5 - start of the Pertwee era. To be honest I probably didn't really grasp it too much at that age - just liked watching the monsters. I can remember properly the Sea Devils coming out of the Sea though - when I would have been 7 or 8...

Nineteen. The classic series bypassed me as a kid, so I got into the new series and went back and watched whatever I could find of the classic series.

I can remember snippets of the monsters from Pyramids of Mars and Brain of Morbius, which looking at the airdates would have made me 3 years old. The first story that I can remember "properly" watching was Hand of Fear, even then I was only four and a half, and I probably saw them all from then onwards although my interest waned after Tom Baker left.

My earliest memory from Doctor Who is of a Yeti from "The Abominable Snowmen". That was 1967 and I was 7.
