Where has all the filling gone?

I had crispy pancakes for dinner this evening, a very poor show Findus, where is the filling? I remember the days that they were so full of filling they would burst open when cooking, these things even when cooked were flat as a pancake hardly any filling.

The same can be said lasagna I had at the weekend, it was a shops own brand, Asda or Iceland but it was all pasta, sauce and cheese, barely any mince.

Same can be said for a mince and onion pie I bought from Iceland a few weeks ago it was all gravy and pastry,

Is this how they sort the horse meat scandal? Has anyone else noticed this?

Yep.

I make a very thin pancake and then put the filling in the centre. Egg wash the edges and fold over to seal. Lightly flour, dip in egg and then breadcrumbs. If using them straight away I will shallow fry them (as the filling will still be warm) or they can be done in advance and then baked in the oven.

Some fillings I've done are -
Mince with onion and gravy, just to bind, not so it oozes.
Chicken with philidelphia.
Sausage and bacon and mushroom.
Smoked mackerel.
Chilli.
