Celeb BIg Brother B-Team warned: You May Be Axed

Today's Daily Star reports the following titbits
Troubled show Celebrity Big Brother kicks off tonight with bosses warning the contestants: "No one is safe." Fed-up show chiefs have lined up substitutes or all eight of the stars set to enter the spy-in-the-wall house.

And they say they will not hesistate to axe celebs for their stand-ins right up until the last minute. A flurry of frantic phone calls to showbiz agents have led to a host of 11th hour signings, amid reports that the show has been struggling to find stars.

The B-list for the Channel 4 show includes former Radio 1 DJ Lisa I'Anson, 39; telly host Chris Tarrant's wife, Ingrid, 49; Brookside and Emmerdale star Julie Peasgood, 45; Boot Sale Challenge's foul-mouthed Lorne Spicer, 37; and US swimwear and Hawaiian Topic pin-up Tania Lamanna.

Others approached include ex Hear'Say star Myleene Klass, 26; pin-up Gaby Richens, 30; panto star Christopher Biggins, 56 and posh comic Stephen Fry, 47.

Meanwhile, model Caprice has had a change of heart and agreed to appear after all. She pulled out of the show, but has now been tempted by a reported £110,000 deal. Sizzling Brigitte Nielsen, 42 is in, alongside Cherie Blair's ex-guru Carole Caplin, 42, racing pundit John McCririck, 64, and Eurotrash star Antoine de Caunes.

Meanwhile, some of the celebs were fuming to hear that others have been offered more than £100,000, when the average fee was less than £30,000.

Stephen Fry??? Why in hell would a respectable, urbane, intelligent multi-millionaire with a real career and more work than he can handle consider going on Celeb BB?? God, I wish he would, though!

The final cut apparent are:

- Caprice

- Kenzie (Blazin' Squad)

- Bez (Happy Monday's)

- Mark Bosnich

- Brigitte Nielsen

- Lisa I'anson

- Jeremy Edwards

- John McCririck

with the others ready to step in as stand-ins.

Why?

For his chosen charity, of course! It is not as if he needs the moolah. Or more work!

I'm sure there are less humiliating things he could do for charity, though! I've always considered CelebBB the purely the hunting ground of those who literally desperately need the publicity! I wonder if any of them really ever have done it for the benefit of their charities...

Stephen Fry would be my ultimate HM. Intelligent, quick witted and quite possibly prone to hissy fits!

You could say the same for the celebs of IACGMOOH. Didn't that boy Peter Andre do well!

In a way though, CelebBB is scarier than IAC. If you do ok in IAC you're likely to get a few ITV one off shows, a lot of corporate work, adverts, etc. Good magazine deals. Oh, I agree, it's for the desparate, alright, but for some reason CelebBB always seems a just a bit more desparate, a bit more sleazy and grubby... or maybe I just think that because of the scary and morose Les Dennis effect, and the fact that the career enhancing potential of it is much, much sketchier!
