Nikon Coolpix P50 digital camera fault
Apologies if this is the wrong section but I have the following problem:
My Nikon P50 digital camera has developed a fault. It takes 2 x AA batteries, but recently it has said it is out of power very quickly (even when putting in 2 brand new batteries which work fine in other devices) and then today it won't even turn on with new batteries. Is there anything I can do to try and fix it? Thanks for your time

Are these alkalines or rechargeables? If you are using rechargeable batteries they have a lower voltage than alkalines. If the camera has an option to set battery type and it is set to alkaline then it may be mistaking the inherently lower voltage of rechargeables as the batteries running out.
If the camera has a full factory reset option then that might help if the problem is some setting. Other than that I doubt there is much you can do. |

Please don't be offended but this is a budget camera from 2007 , if it turns out to be genuinely faulty as opposed to a battery issue its better to move on to something better . There have been huge steps forward in camera performance , have a look at Pana or Canon ranges for good mid price cameras !

Was just hoping I could fix this for the time being ![]() And I've tried new non-rechargeable batteries so don't think that is the issue. |
