Cat's eye cleaned itself up?
Dynopia

This week my cat's left eye had been looking a bit bad. The eye itself looked ok but he was slightly squinting, there was some puss the first day and then it just looked a bit saw.

Booked an appointment with the vet but being a holiday weekend earliest I could get was this coming Tuesday.

Anyway, looking at it today it looks almost back to normal, no more squinting, eye looks bright and no other symptoms.

Still gonna take him to the vet but is it possible it's been able to clear itself up? Does that perhaps mean it was a cold rather than something that needed antibiotics?

Cats often get eye infections, particular if they are scrappers. Generally they do clear themselves up, I think the advice is if you see puss or a squint for more than a few days get it checked. It may be worth checking with the vet as you saw puss, but I'd say trust you instincts.

Another reason for eye infections with cats is a possible underlying respiratory problem. Probably nothing to worry about but a trip to the vets just to be inb the safe side would be sensible

I think you are referring to a 'puss' i.e. cat but I think the BIB that you mention is meant to be 'pus'
