chilli

Is chilli become a seasoning in recipes?

I usually make my own food but now and then resort to shop made meals, burgers or meatballs when I am feeling a little lazy or if pushed for time.

I am finding it increasingly difficult to find things that don't contain chilli which makes me ill.
It really annoys me when
I see chilli added to something I would never expect it to be in.

Look on the ingredients. If you have problems ask customer service and tell them your issues/worries

Are you allergic to it?

I expect manufacturers see chilli as a cheap way to 'spice' up food, especially if they want to cut back on salt - I do it myself
Obviously a pain if you are allergic

Not sure if it can be described as an allergy but as soon as I eat anything with chilli in it it has an almost instant effect on the contents of my tummy. Lets just say it is very painful and messy and my stomach takes about 24 hours to calm down
I was really cheesed off at the weekend when I got something I had checked the ingredients and bought before.
At the weekend I didn't check the ingredients again because I knew I had checked when I previously bought the food.
Lesson learned.....the recipe had been changed but the labelling didn't say new recipe or improved recipe or anything like that on it.
Took one bite of the food and asked hubby if he thought it was spicy, he went straight to check the packet and yep, chilli had been added.

Thing is the food manufacturers seem to be putting it in foods you wouldn't expect it to be in.
Usually I make my own stuff but like I said sometimes when time is short I pick up something ready made to save time.
