Fingers crossed.

You know...Eccleston coming back excites me even more...you know, because he is so unpredictable...and that i didnt feel 9 had an "end" as it were....i think a few scenes of Eccleston would be excuisite...so yeah another DW Easter Treat would be delicious hehe love it.

I do love the pic of Matt N David

Surely if Eccleston is supposed to be involved, it means for continuity purposes, that we will see the past Doctors at some point previously unseen in their era?

(Like the original series anniversary episodes!)

The news of Tennant is exciting, because it's an event. The news of Eccleston would be exciting, because it's Eccleston.

Having Eccleston back would be my ultimate wish for this anniversary special. I'd love to see him back, even if for a part of a single episode alongside Piper. If I was to be pushing it, I'd have Tate back alongside Tennant. But one awesome star at a time

I think they might be why they announced then together... to throw us off the scent.

tbh same...i feel Eccleston/Piper was a finer blend....i mean even if series 1 lagged in parts their chemistry made up for that i personally feel...although the show has come a LOOOOOng way since then....it feels like the right pair...and Ten/Donna too i feel for the same reason in series 4...which can only mean The Ponds may also be back (makes sense huh?) for their 5/6/7A impact.....just saddens me that Sarah-Jane wont be in it...at least not in physical/new form...nor the Brigadier for the same reasons ...but who knows how they are going to go about this?

Like Matt and the Moff have said...its not just about going back, but heading forwards....i think something clever is gonna happen all round with these recurrances and returnees and those that cannot return for obvious reasons...and i cannot wait to see

I'm guessing any more casting news will be announced Wednesday, or tomorrow at the earliest.

I would love for Eccleston to return He'd be an odd fit alongside Tennant and (especially) Smith, but a good script might pull it off nicely!

A bow tie, a pair of Converses and a Leather jacket. Have at it!

Indeed. Or Rose can be used between either Nine or Ten, so until Eccleston commits, it makes sense to have a Piper in the mix.

Feels a bit like how Sarah Jane was moved around The Five Doctors script when Tom was flip-flopping all the way through.

The Three Doctors - http://youtu.be/I6Uf4sjX8RE

Imagine Eccleston saying what Hartnell does at 0.49.

I can't telll you how excited I was in '73 at the idea of the three droctors being together.

Hartnell back after 7 years - Eccleston 8
Troughton back after 4 - Tennant after 3

Not much difference.

Oh, please be true, please please please... But doesn't that first report claiming that the special is 90 minutes conflict with most other reports of it being 60? I really hope it is that long though, and it would make even more sense since it's being shown in cinemas.

Nothing is confirmed length wise, not even in DWM. The Mirror claims it'll be between 75-90 minutes long. Take that with a pinch of salt though

Without watching, presumably that's when he accuses the subsequent Doctors of being a dandy and a clown? Though this time it'd be the other way around.

Indeed.

And that Eccleston was also quite abrupt.

Perhaps the length depends on whether another Doctor is involved, or not? There were rumours of two versions of the script - a Nine-heavy and a Nine-lite draft.

Based on that? Well done Sid, well done. Nice to see your psychic powers are still in check

I'd LIKE to see Eccleston back, so I'm keeping an open mind.

No, based on a very reliable insider saying he pulled out and the fact that he wants nothing more to do with the show and has said as much, a lot more than the basis for him returning.

I'll keep my fingers crossed but not get my hopes up.

Get Paul McGann on board too.

Praying to God I wake up tomorrow and this be confirmed. For me this would mean absolutely everything, it would be like the modern version of The Three Doctors. Huge news for me if it's true! Please be true!!!!

I trust TDT too, but as he said, his list of returning docs was non-exhaustive. Jenna Louise Coleman's comment about receiving yet another draft of the script shows how much the episode is changing, even in small ways, right up until shooting. Even if Eccleston has been persuaded for a cameo and nothing more it would be something
