With the recruitment of Emma Willis, I'm wondering if there will now be a complete overhaul of the live shows, or whether they shall be the exact same format as before ?
Rent a mob, crowd intrusion, interviews a complete mess with booing and hissing. - I used to look forward to Emma interviewing the housemate in the bots studio just so we got a proper interview, now what ?!
Unless the live shows are being given a complete overhaul (sacking Jamie sutcliffe would be a start) then Emma's appointment as presenter will be rendered completely pointless !

Big Brother is not all about who presents it

Hopefully they will close the eye for every interview going forward.

Brian wasn't good at interviews even with the eye closed..but the eye being open made it even worse.

I'm not sure what they can do about the crowd (they take what they can get)...perhaps stick them in a cage ala Tiswas and turn a hose on them/throw gunk at them at the bequest of the evictee?

He is the senior producer guy who sometimes appeared. Emma was always trying to find a date for him; a pretty thankless task, I'd imagine!

Or get rid of the ridiculous cheap eye looking thing altogether ?
I would scale back the audience as well.

This moron who produces the live shows, he started on channel 4. Around the time they started to get crap.
I'm amazed he's still in a job.

i agree. emma will have just as a difficult job managing that crowd as brian did.

congrats to her though. hopefully they can find someone decent enough for bots.

She couldn't even control the very few members of the BOTS audience no way is she going to control the even worse mob outside

On the contrary, Brian was the most glaring and easily solved problem the live shows had.

The issues listed in the OP could actually be addressed by a capable host, in the unlikely event the producers wish to address them. I suspect they're perfectly happy to have strong crowd reactions, and housemates fretting about going out to face them.

Brian always looked uncomfortable in the role. The live shows can only benefit from having someone more at ease with the audience and interviewing housemates.

Do you think that this year they might change the layout?

For example-having the interview room a little further away from the crowd or in a studio?

Changing the presenter doesn't cure everything; but it is a step in the right direction.

If the delivery etc wasn't so stilted the show would at least flow better - there are loads of other problems, but surely this should be seen as a positive step.

Hopefully, the presenter change is just one of many changes. I'd also like:

- Interview AWAY from the morons in the outside crowd.
- Marcus Bentley sticking to narrating, BB doing the "please leave the BB house" thing. Seriously, it makes no sense for Marcus to do that.

As the face of the programme, Brian is the first point of contact for the viewer. No matter what other problems the show had, they'll all be associated with Brian's era of the show.

They attempted change with the move to Channel 5 but it hasn't really paid off. The overall live show production is pretty tacky, cheesy and camp but I have a feeling they're going to strip all of that away and make it a lot more professional. For a start, Emma is a much better interviewer. The actual show itself had a tacky feel around it when it first moved to Channel 5, but in particular the couple of celebrity series' since the one Denise won have been very 'dark' and quite reminiscent of the Channel 4 years. They seem to be slowly picking the Channel 5 revamp apart and returning it to how it was, and this is just the final move. But I guess time will tell.

Just to put things into perspective here to how it has become on Channel 5, can you really see Emma walking out with showgirls or topless male dancers at the start of an eviction show? That never happened with Davina either.

Oh great, so we can look forward to Willis squeeing & simpering, & going on about imaginary fauxmances with everyone & anyone. It's only a matter of time before she starts gurning - she's a Davina clone.

It's about CH5 realised what the real problem with the programme is.........how about the lack of LF, what about the rentamob on eviction nights, what about Marcus overdoing his narrator part, what about the 18 to 25 HM's who are mostly brain-dead, what about the constant manipulation on the producers part to instigate fights. That's just for starters!

Brian encouraged it. He used to ask who they were here to Boo

If Emma can do a Davina and rein the moronic crowd in, she'll do for me

Can we just remove the stupid eye please.
All I want is to go back to basics not this sparkle and glitter crap I keep seeing around the house.

They should do the eviction interview in the bots studio or with the eye closed. No showgirls or topless male dancers and not have Marcus introducing Emma with his screaming crap.
Change the layout of the house completely and stop decorating the house like its from a shte porn movie. Oh and bring the live feed back for f*ck sake.

Thats only for openers , the whole integrity of the show needs restored after the last fiasco and the very dubious white room and that cretin from Derry who abused the girl and ended up with a lot of dosh.

Putting Emma in is a good start the rest needs radical overhaul and surgery particulary the so called Producers who must also get the bullet.

Question is , Can chanel 5 restore its integrity as a reality show or is it simply flogging a dead horse?

I am hoping that the new guy incharge of c5 has looked at what made BB a success on C4 and is going to replacat it. C5s back to reality had live feed so we never know, I think he was there at that time as well.

.
I agree that there are other problems with the show - the outside influences, the messing with noms, the crowd chanting and booing, the eye left open, etc., but Brian had absolutely zero gravitas and was a lacklustre figurehead for the programme.

'do a Davina and rein the moronic crowd in'? Maybe in the early years - but remember Makosi in UBB?

I blame it all on the loss of the mangle. Sure the laminate remained but it took a more laid back role....but the loss of the mangle pressed all the wrong buttons.

And who gave the sliding doors a bigger role with all their banging and rattling for entrants? The sliding doors even got vajazelled...and before the watershed too

..and who were they kidding with this basement nonesense....it was on the same floor level....at least the loft was in the loft (ish)

...ohh and the Dentist Chair.....made an appearance in a pre show titbit but never seen again. It was reported that the host never rang the chair or tweeted.....you know thatt's what a phones for...and the chair found out off Digi Spy....Mind you the chair did look a little wooden

.....and while we're talking of being cut from the show....don't get any ideas...you can forget about putting in your CVs because you're TOO LATE
