BBLB instead of BBBOTS??
I was just thinking today after i read that Emma is replacing Brian, i would like it if ch5 scrapped Bit On The Side and brought back Little Brother [maybe try and get Dermot oleary back but then with him doing x factor i dunno if that would be possible]
i enjoyed BBLB much more than BOTS. I think its because it was on at 6pm and built up excitement for evictions. Also, a lot of the time on BOTS i feel like no real discussions goes on as Emma keeps having to say 'one person speak one person speak right calm down' does anyone else agree??? |

I definitely preferred BBLB to BOTS.
BBLB was more informative,BOTS is lowest common denominator .. jizzing dogs and jamie east with his knob out.

Yes BBLB should be revived definitely. It would garner more interest in the show and as a result possibly increase the viewership furthermore.
It has to be said that Channel 4 had an excellent format when it came to BBLB and why that cannot be replicated i do not know. We all know that Channel 5 tends to be the more risque of the two channels, hence the timeslots. However, BBBOTS, despite a massive improvement on it's last outing to the original BOTS format, descended into nothing more than a smutfest which then also trickled into the main show, not helped by Brian's relentless innuendo. I'm no prude but C5 would do good to return the show to a more professional format, particularly with Emma now at the helm, in an effort to redeem it's now cheap and tacky reputation. Is BBBOTS definitely returning? C5 don't appear to have confirmed that it is in any articles published yet? We have a new presenter, a rumoured new house, a new partner show would perfectly compliment the new format and sit very nicely in the teatime schedule. BBBOTS should be scrapped for a more suitable accompanient to BB that appeals to everyone. Despite a lower budget, C5 have endless opportunities to make BB unmissable tv again. They did so from the minute they acquired it - yet they shunned it's legions of loyal fans in favour of being hellbent on making it their own - slowly ruining it again in the process. I think that if C5 made she show more appealing to everyone they could easily be rewarded with a whole new fanbase. |

Definitely. BBLB was much more enjoyable than BOTS. There was a lot of hype for evictions and other type of news. Also, more importantly, proper discussions about the show took place and it felt more natural.

Jamie East has never had his knob out on it? |

BBLB was brilliant back in the Dermot days! I don't think they could get him as presenter though, I wish!

Was BBLB not a CH4 product which most likely could not reappear on C5?

They could still do a similar show (at a similar time) with a different name, its only the name ch4 have rights to
BOTS is like a mix of BBLB and BBBM. It has news, exclusives, live footage, audience, guests. It also adds the comedy element so im not sure what people are really asking for. Besides BBLB went downhill from BB5 onwards and if you check the past threads there was massive criticism over the show..its downfall started when they introduced the superfan and that was with Dermot. |

BOTS is a great name for the show, but that's were in ends. I totally agree it should be back at tea-time, a pre-cursor to the main show later that evening. Forget Dermot presenting, that's way beneath him these days. I wouldn't mind seeing one the better housemates present, but let's not even think about it being Rylan
that goose has been overcooked

Except for the early years, BBLB was terrible. People have short memories. I don't and I remember how disappointing 99% of episodes were. 22 minutes of the same few guests and nothing much happening. Then when Dermot left it became unwatchable basically.
Much prefer Bit On The Side. It has more exclusive show clips for a start. Little Brother had hardly any towards the end. |

If they could have brought over the BBLB brand Channel 5 would definitely have done - it was established.
BOTS should be scrapped. It's currently on for 1 hour a day every day of the week I'd prefer those 7 hours to instead go into - 1 x 1 hour psychology show - 5 x 30 minute BBLB type show (weekdays at tea time!) - 1 x 30 minute BBBM type show (after the nominations episode) - 1 x 1 hour BBBM type show (after the eviction show) - 1 x 1 hour live task from the house - 1 x 1 hour unseen highlights from the previous week. One hour of BOTS a night is just full of filler. |

BOTS gets excellent ratings. One hour at 11pm clearly works. BBLB was watched by one man and his dog towards the end, albeit tucked away on E4 at about 6pm. It is clear what the viewers prefer.
I like your idea about trying live tasks again though. I distinctly remember watching the BB3 live challenges to decide who gets the rich side, basketball shots was one of them, and then you saw ( usually ) Alex picking who to go on rich side and then you would turn to live feed to see a party in full swing. If 5 did something like that then the positive threads on here would be amazing and it could surely only encourage or pick up viewers. |

I like your idea about trying live tasks again though. Channel 5 also tried turning OKTV into a BBLB format but it failed, and for a very good reason. That kind of programming is dated, and whilst BB does well for Channel 5, there just isn't the interest anymore for people to watch a tea time show. |

BOTS will stay because it usually attracts around 30%-40% of the HL show's viewers. For example, in BB13, the HLs would get around 1.3m, BOTS would get between 400k-600k (and these sometimes would rate this well on 5*). That's like Xtra Factor getting around 4m. BOTS during CBB11 was attracting over 700k constantly, it hit 1m a couple of times and received 1.4m overnight for the final.
They will be hanging onto BOTS with their lives because it boosts Channel 5's share. |

Let's face it, C5 tried to recreate BBLB with OKTV from BB, and that failed

I dont think there's anything wrong with the BOTS title - it's more the format. BBLB was much punchier and i much prefer and early evening magazine style show to a late night innuendo fest with a moronic audience.

I think they should bring a show like BBLB back on the weekdays..
06.30 - New 30 minute show (Mon-Fri) 22:00 - Big Brother (Sat-Thu) 21:00 - Big Brother: Live Eviction (Friday) 23:00 - Bit On The Side (Friday) Just keep BOTS as an eviction/launch/finale special and try and build an audience at 6.30 for BBLB type show against the news of BBC/ITV 1 and Hollyoaks on Channel 4 I hope that a number of changes are made this year |

BOTS just needs tweaking. More discussion on the actual housemates and no nonsense games at the weekend. It should be a show about the series and the housemates.

I give it six months before "why isn't Brian presenting anymore, he was brilliant" threads to proliferate. I disagree about BOTS being any good though, one hour of live-feed, and a magazine prog in the day. Not sure of the timing, but make it fresh and new, no old ideas. |
