So far it may as well be karaoke, the arrangements are so like the plain and straight ahead rock and the singers clearly have no chance of interpretation and putting their spin on a song. This is going to be a dull evening at this rate.

Candice and Burnell - The Letter (The Box Tops, Joe Cocker etc)

Um... well... Candice is pretty great isn't she? Rises above that rock backing.

Janelle - You May Be Right (Billy Joel)

She may seem like also-ran alongside other girls here, but she did a good job and really got into the song. She's pretty adorable.

only joking! glad to see Orianthi on the show, Rock music is my favourite genre and she is amazing on the guitar and has some good music out, very underrated IMO.

Angie - Bring Me To Life (Evanescence)

Great way to finish the show. She's pretty hot. Good performance although hardly subtle, did well with quite a shouty song.

Possibly the performance of the night, although Kree remains my favourite.

I'm looking forward to another guy going tonight - Lazaro is IMO only still there because he has a stammer.

I can't understand why the judges rate Amber so highly.

I really want Janelle to do well each time, but I think she is this year's Kellie Pickler: I don't see her as the winner of the show but should have a career.

Best of the night for me was Candice, then Angie then Kree.

Evening all! Enjoyed last night's show. Anyone else distracted by Lazaro's red trousers? Have managed to avoid any spoilers today, so am looking forward to the results show - I expect it to be one of the boys leaving.

Shame. I thought Burnell was worth saving. I don't know what they're waiting for unless they fear that Lazaro is going to survive a few more weeks. Mayber they're waiting to save Amber. I don't think they'd save Janelle and the Candice, Kree and Angie have a solid vote.

With Janelle in the bottom two, I expect she'll get the usual bounce next week.

As for the American Idol alumni performances, I enjoyed Casey James although the song was undistinguished. I was never a big fan of Carrie Underwood and today's performance didn't impress.

I think the judges are keeping the save for Amber (Why though? I don't think she is anywhere NEAR as good as Candice). I actually think Candice isn't getting as much votes as everyone thinks - she wasn't top 3 this week, even though she has been the best consistently, i think Angie and Kree will be the final 2.

Also, can someone PLEASE explain why all the judges love Kree? Out of the 'power 4' (Angie, Amber, Candice and Kree) i think she is the weakest.

As for the judges top 3. Pfffft. Angie? Really? Ok, yeah. She is good. Her 'Shop Around' performance was possibly the worst of the entire season, why is she in all the judges and audience top 3's, yet Candice, who's worst performance is probably in the top 10 best this year, isn't acknowledged. I just find it all very very strange.

not overly shocked to see burnell leave as such but hugely shocked to see lazaro the last of the boys still in the competition

said it before but he has to be getting a lot of sympathy votes still as no-one can seriously think hes one of the best three singers left as he was voted last night

as far as the judges save , I don't think they are saving it for anyone in particular tbh , the whole point of the save is meant to be to give someone who is seen as a potential winner a second chance if they have a bad week , burnell had been near the bottom every week so wasn't worth using it on someone who would likely just be back in the same place again next week

Sympathy for what, though? I think Lazaro is getting the cute vote. Based on singing talent, he should have gone weeks ago. Burnell was miles better. So was Devin.

AI in the past has never really seen mediocre but cute guys get a lot of votes imo so not sure that's what is keeping him in

What could happen (hopefully) is that Lazaro has a reasonable week next week, the producers don't show any clips of him stammering, the judges are not so hard on him and the public doesn't vote for him.

It would be amazing to have only girls left, but would the voting numbers drop? Will Lazaro keep getting votes from the female voters being the only boy left?

I don't know what the viewing figures are like in the UK, but if the number of posters on here is anything to go by I would be surprised if we get to see the show next year.

Did anyone else notice the difference in the girls' tearful reaction to Burnell? No hiding the affection they had for the guy... unlike Devin the previous week :-/

WhyHelloWorld questioned what the judges see in Kree. For me at least, she has an exceptionally cultured and capable voice. However I think she's yet to have her great on-your-feet moment.

In fact that goes for Candice and Angie too. Isn't it time to let them sing what they want to sing? Or at least a theme that highlights great female vocals. Rock week! What was that about? Probably got Elvis Presley week coming next!

It might be a mixture of the two, I suppose. It's certainly not his singing talent.
