What are your views on this movie. Bit over the top for me. Liam is great in it. Not seen the 2nd one yet.

A thoroughly watchable, although somewhat mindless action flick. I don't think I would have enjoyed it half as much with anyone other than Liam Neeson in the part.

I wouldn't bother watching Taken 2 tbh - it is extremely short, lifelessly directed and the action isn't as intense as the first one. A total cash in.

I like Taken because the main character isn't some muscle bound, super hero he just appears to be a regular guy with a "particular skill set". I don't like the end bit in the boat, it just seems rushed and like they weren't sure how to finish the film off.

Taken 2 is an enjoyable film, but not a patch on the first, it's too short and the action is very much "in your face", seemed to be more of a "cash in" type of film.

I enjoyed the first film a lot but the sequel was very disappointing, I agree with Philip even though obviously a lot of sequels are to cash in on the original but this one just felt like they didn't care and felt like a cash in film all the way through.

Pretty much my feelings. Sticking an actor of Neeson's calibre in something like that is like buying a Ferrari and never taking it out of 2nd gear. It pandered to that American paranoia that venturing beyond their borders to Yerp incurs all sorts of dangers (as opposed to staying at home where any nutter can own guns).

I saw the 'harder' cut where he sticks the nails in the bloke's legs and passes electricity through them to get some information.

Oh and check out the Family Guy homage - hilarious.

Taken (I've seen the harder cut), was a great stripped down action/revenge film with Liam Neeson being a bad mofo Reminded me of Jack Bauer/24 in one scene especially. I really enjoyed it!

The first half of Taken is great! Then it just turns into a generic action flick.

You have said just what I was thinking after I have just watched "Taken 2". I have not watched the longer version yet though.

I saw Liam in the film The Grey and he was AMAZING! I didn't like him in Batman.

I can't wait to have the concentration to watch the Taken films.

Taken 2 is rubbish.
The second film is fun if you stop expecting it to be a good movie and turn it into a Friday-night drinking game.

It's dumb-as-f*ck and not a patch on the first film, but it has a certain entertainment value in watching Maggie Grace randomly lobbing grenades around Istanbul as if she were throwing pebbles!

I agree with a lot of the comments. The ending was too quick and unsatisfactory. I never particularly enjoy Liam Neeson's acting either.

I'm not really a film person, but both films were very enjoyable for me.

I actually prefered Taken 2

unknown is a bit of a cash in on taken, too.

completely different film, but he is very good in Rob Roy.

I liked "Unknown" though because of the plot it doesn't get many re-runs in my household. I also like "From Paris With Love" great action film.
