Hi
I don't know if anyone has posted with this issue before but it's driving me nuts
Everything was working fine with the player and the other day I went onto the Hub to watch Netflix, I got an error message on screen saying Internet interference!!
I checked my internet settings through the Smart hub and it doesn't connect to my BT homehub3..
I get a message saying "Ensure that the DHCP server is enabled on the router then restart router" alternatively "Set up the IP manually by selecting IP settings"

I contacted BT and they gave me a DNS Server number of 8.8.8.8 and when I put that in the player connects to the hub but still not the internet, any help would be greatly appreciated??

How is the Blu-Ray conencted to the Home Hub? Cable or WiFi?

And how have you configured the Network settings on the Blu-Ray. If you have set it to DHCP then it should be getting all it's settings from the Home Hub. I presume other devices connected to your Home Hub are working OK?

If you are using WiFi on the Blu-Ray double check it is trying to connect to your Home Hub and not a neighbours. Where I live I can see at least three BT Home Hub signals on WiFi on my laptop so perhaps not so impossible you could have neighbours with BT Home Hubs as well.

I have the player connected by ethernet cable, the network settings on the player are set to AUTO so they auto fill the boxes, except the DNS server box which is 0.0.0.0
When it tries to connect like that it doesn't even connect to the router, when I replace it manually with the numbers I got from BT helpdesk 8.8.8.8 it connects to the router but not the internet

8.8.8.8 is Google's public DNS server. Odd that BT should tell you those. And even odder that it should have any effect on the player seeing your Home Hub. The player should be able to see the Home Hub even if the Home Hub itself is completely disconnected from the phone line so has no internet connection.

Try turning off the player at the mains and unplugging the network cable for ten minutes. Then plug it all back up and see if the player re-negotiates a connection with the Home Hub. You could even try pulling the power on the Home Hub and powering it back up to reset that as well.

Thanks chrisjr, I'll turn everything off and unplugging network cable and re-boot home hub, I'll let you know the results

Tried unplugging player and cables, powered off Homehub, left for 20 mins, still exactly the same, doesn't recognise hub in Auto mode and DNS auto fills 0.0.0.0 when replaced by 8.8.8.8 it recognises homehub but still won't connect to internet
