I'm not sure if an art thread exists, but can't see one so it's about time one was made. I don't care if spiteful posters like Cameron Samurai think we're talentless bozos, I do this for fun. I hope anyone who is interested or produces their own fan art can post their pictures and thoughts here.

I produce dvd covers for new series episodes in classic series style templates. I started 2 months ago, and have recently completed the Christopher Eccleston series. I will print them off at some point and put them with my classic dvd collection.

Rose
The End of the World
The Unquiet Dead
Aliens of London
Dalek
The Long Game
Father's Day
The Empty Child
Boom Town
The Parting of the Ways

Let me know what you think, share your art as well and I'll return the favour

This is a much better place for this kind of thing as opposed to the classic DVD section. Look forward to seeing more of your covers

Not bad, but I think they would look better in this sort of format: http://art.gmaskew.com/barryp/large/...the_daleks.jpg
The fact that the covers appear to already be on DVD boxes looks a bit awkward and it makes the finer details slightly more difficult to see.
Another bonus would be that if they were in that format, you could even print it out and actually use it on a DVD box.

Other than that though, they look good.

I see what you mean, I'll post them in flattened format from now on

I have a blog for my covers and post them in flat and mocked-up formats; here are the flats:

Rose
The End of the World
The Unquiet Dead
Aliens of London
Dalek
The Long Game
Father's Day
The Empty Child
Boom Town
The Parting of the Ways

Father's Day is my personal favourite.

Just brilliant much better than the official ones. Just one point, clicking on Fathers Day brings up The Long Game

Really like the DVD covers, and you can add me to the talentless list

I have been doing a personal project to celebrate the 50th anniversary, I'm creating a quote poster a month up until November -

DW Quotes

I also created a t-shirt design alter last weeks episode, plus there are a few more things on my main website page, just scroll down the page to find the DW stuff.

zort.co.uk

One thing that is not on there yet is this Click Here - Based on one of the promo shots for Series 7, even though it's quite blurred on the photo I thought I'd have a go recreating it anyway.

I absolutely love those quote posters! The quotes are well chosen, especially the "a straight line..." quote from Pertwee, the roadmap was a brilliant idea, and the Tom Baker scarf/ question mark is a stroke of genius!

Thanks very much

It was so hard to restrict myself to one quote per doctor, but that was the rule I set myself at the start.

I received some criticism of my original Parting of the Ways cover last night; the main complaints were too many images, too many small images, a lack of overall composition, and the explosion, whilst looking good, wasn't a big enough part of the cover, being obscured from view by the images.

So, here is a fresh attempt at a cover for Parting of the Ways

Much better, I think

Abomination has made some brilliant posters for series 6 episodes:

I don't have the slightest Photoshop skill, or much skill at all really... but here's some random posters I put together using the promo pics quite some time ago. They're nothing great and the one for TDTWATW is a bit blurry, but thought I'd share them all the same

6.10 - The Girl Who Waited
http://i.imgur.com/tTdtcNW.jpg

6.11 - The God Complex
http://i.imgur.com/LVzrdwx.jpg

6.12 - Closing Time
http://i.imgur.com/JPXNVmi.jpg

6.13 - The Wedding of River Song
http://i.imgur.com/iPeIQvB.jpg

X-7 - The Doctor, The Widow and the Wardrobe
http://i.imgur.com/0ahRi46.jpg

I could make some more if people were interested enough, though as I said they're nothing that great.

I looked at the website links, thanks.

However, i do not have the skills needed to recreate what you have done. The reason i asked was because like the season 7 posters i would like images like that for all episodes, someone else in another thread has started to do series 6 but the images you have done for the front cover of the DVDs would be perfect for a series one poster collection.

You think so? Wow, thanks!

TBH I'm not happy with all my covers, the ones for Dalek and The Long Game in particular. I'd say The Unquiet Dead as well, but there's not much else I can think of doing with it.
I will go through my folder and make separate images for you; I assume you mean you want the whole cover image and not the individual parts -- I'll upload them to flickr by this evening (I've started work on The Christmas Invasion cover. So far it consists of Tennant in his pyjamas with the Sycorax ship behind him breaking out of the template)

markuspeg, here you are: http://www.flickr.com/photos/4370746...7633216908733/

I'm sorry to say that my file for The Unquiet Dead seems to have disappeared, apart from that all the covers are there.
