It is a disgusting programme and personally I don't think it should be given air-time. Do the British public really want a prog with people like the Phillpotts and other benefit scroungers getting their 5 mins of fame? The more of this sort of garbage that's on TV the more impressionable young people will think it's "normal".

I also think that although they claim to help people who go on the show they don't really care. Look at Graham, what a wimp he is. If he really is a counsellor he should be telling JK to stop yelling and screaming at people, that doesn't help at all.

While I would never watch JK, why should ITV axe it when so many watch it?....

Too right, this is a vile show that has gone on too long and should be axed. I think all of ITV's morning shows are low brow trash that need to go, This Morning should have been taken off after the Cameron accusations and Loose Women is just a vulgar clapped out show that if men hosted it, it would have taken off for sexism.
It's like chav central and a shame when you think they used to have shows like The Time The Place in these slots that were good debate shows.

I've never watched it so can't really comment but from the trailers I'm genuinely surprised that anyone would watch it (and disappointed that they obviously do). I'm capable of watching as much shite as the next person but this seems to be a particulary nasty kind of programme.

You summed it up perfectly - some of my colleagues at work sit and watch it at break time - I work in a residential home - the residents sometimes get stressed with all the shouting - for me I think Jeremy should be totally ashamed of himself for this scummy dysfunctional programme.

Yes from me too though I must admit I like it when the bad guests answer kyle back as he doesn't like that.

I wouldn't watch it unless someone paid me a lot of money. But while there's a reasonable audience for this kind of rubbish, why should they axe it ?

Yes.

It's nothing but the Daily Mail in TV form. Not EVERYONE is benefit scrounger....remember, everyone is a payday away from redundancy, disability or a health condition. Plus some places have few prospects. Why should someone move to find work? It's the fault of councils and governments. Do not believe what scumbags like Cameron and Osborne peddle....Kyle is doing their dirty work. That my friend is BRAINWASHING!

I doubt many guests have been givenhelp, and Graham is a disgrace to the councelling profession.

Replace the slot with something worthwhile...maybe a proper debate show?

ITV 2+1, that's as bad as it sounds.

Yes, it should never have been put on television in the first place. If 'real', a lot of the people on it shouldn't be treated like they are in front of a live audience and television audience, they should be getting help in psychiatric hospitals and so on instead by actual experts...

Not into Jeremy Kyle myself but I voted No as I know quite a few people watch it.
If you don't like it then just change the channel.

To all the people saying "no it shouldn't be axed but I don't watch it" -
Maybe you should take a look at the latest series. It's turned into a horrible, uncomfortable to watch programme where Kyle openly favours women over men, screams in people's faces and spits all over them, refers to people as "it" and "that" and women as "bird" saying to men, "you've done alright there me old son with that bird!", and bullies his way through an hour of very uncomfortable viewing.

It never used to be as bad as this. Maybe you should watch one of the new episodes before voting no.

It used to be that people watched shows like Jeremy Kyle and Jerry Springer as it was like a modern day freak show. Now, I fear, many people watch it as they identify with the benefit scrounging, low life and good for nothing guests. And Kyle himself is viewed as some sort of legend and pillar of society. I have only seen this show once, several years ago and felt like I needed a good scrub afterwards.

I watched it this week, but had to give up on it. There was so much screaming over each other it was impossible to follow. Inevitably the "guests" ran off stage and the fracas continued in the corridor. JK seems to have lost all control, maybe he's still too tired after his illness? As for Graham, well I've seen some of his tweets and I'm not too sure how well educated he actually is - he gets confused with their and there for example.

I will ignore that ridiculous comment about the Daily Mail
I have a close friend who finds herself in very reduced circumatances and is having to claim benefits. She is nothing like those scumbags that appear with KL. I think the majority of people know the difference.
It's obvious from your post that you are no conservative supporter but can you honestly tell me that Ed Milliband will do any better? I don't think so..

I dont beleive he will. I am not a Labour supporter. I am a Green supporter.

I Am sick of people tarring all benefit claimants with the same brush. Surely we should all be working together to overthrow a rotten political system?

As far as I am aware he still pulls in 1-2 million viewers a day (though he does terribly on Saturdays) but I'm still with the 79-odd % who think it should be axed.
