It will probably be won by a horse.

They have a great record over the years........

My tip would be to bet on a race that is less random. I never bet on the National.

The Grand National really is a mugs game. All the top pundits disagree with each other on who is going to win.

so I am going for Imperial Commander and Rare Bob at EW

I normally only gamble once a year, and it makes the National much more exciting if I have something to root for. I don't put much on but I do spread it around a bit given the payout is 5 places, so I've backed each way

Colbert Station
On His Own
Teaforthree
Ballabriggs
Imperial Commander
Soll
Becauseicouldntsee

Its just a bit of fun. Hate this snobbery. The odds clearly reflect the random nature of the race.

I have E/W bets on:

Colbert Station
Balthazar King
Joncol

I also have a free bet on Cappa Bleu from Paddy Power which I also went E/W on which is a nice bonus!

Two for me:
Chicago Grey
Join Together

This pair ticked the most boxes for me in terms of what I look for in a National horse, especially Chicago Grey. I'm a little worried about Join Together's relative inexperience but hopefully he'll run a big race.

Also a very modest amount on Forpadytheplasterer at a big price. Will more than likely be outclassed but this horse has a lot of heart so you never know.

Good luck everyone!

I've picked mine purely on names. I have 2 each way on Treacle and BecauseIcouldn'tSee and 1 eachway on AlwaysWaining. 10 is always my limit and the GrandNational is the only time I ever place a bet.
