I, like Chris, had nothing this morning, but the Dutch muxs are coming in loud and clear now.

NOS 2 is showing Wimbledon "live", with a couple of seconds delay from the terrestrial BBC feed, which I guess is down to satellite delay.

The signals on CH39 are strongest (as ever), the West MUX (ch 52) is coming in slightly lower (5% less signal), the Utrecht MUX (CH 50) is about half the strength of CH 39 (but still giving great pictures). CH 39 signals are STRONGER than from the local power house transmitter, Belmont.

Encrypted MUXes are coming in on CH34, CH45, CH27, CH24, CH49.

CH37 isn't delivering anything, there is signal but no quality, even when it does it delivers another Dutch encrypted MUX here.

Hope the signals are in for you guys too. Happy DXing.

Jon

Hi Jon,

Still nothing here in Lincoln, not a peep.

Cheers,

Chris.

TV West MUX (CH 52) and Utrecht MUX (CH 50) are active at the moment. The Noord Holland MUX on CH39 is weak, coming in and out.

I'm not surprised that TV is active, because the FM band is crammed at the moment with Danish, Swedish, and German stations.

Sadly no German or Danish TV yet (I live in hope).

Or CH32.

Is the aerial that you are using horizontally or vertically polorised?

The aerial I have pointed out over the North Sea is vertically polarised, so that might explain it.

Chris (Brumlad36) gets Germany on CH39 from time to time, he is 40 miles further east than me.

Let us all know if you have it coming in on other channels (I am trying them all out as you post them). Between going in and out to the TV in the other room and me sat there with headphones on, my wife must be getting fed up with me. I keep saying, "but there is a big lift on" - not sure she is that impressed though.

I know what you mean. I'm running to my kitchen for FM Dx as I'm still trying to get some positive scandanavian IDs and checking the tv at the same time . I wanted to check 2ms and 70cm as well but no chance tonight.

Can you get a horizontal aerial up, just makeshift. I think Denmark are horizontal.

CH 29 is the strongest. I'm currently watching ZDF info with a documentary about Hitler. How ironic.

Hi Jon,

I normally get Aachen on CH 37 (Vertical), but not much on there tonight.
I'm now receiveing Germany on CH 43 (Horizontal) hr-fernsehen, wherever that comes from.

Dutch CH 39 (Vertical) is in and out at the moment.

Cheers,

Hi. I assume this is the right place to put this.

Tonight, it has been very odd. DTT signals in Wirral have been odd to say the least.

Winter Hill OK
Moel Y Parc coming and going when we normally get it all the time
Emley Moor Mux 2 showing on channel 44

Recently I have also been able to get Moel Y Parc channel 52 - the one with Sky News on it.

I did lose Moel Y Parc completely for a while. My surprise was to get Yorkshire. Anyone else had any strange happenings.

In a local p[ub tonight, the picture suddenly started breaking up. I thought the arial was faulty but it would appear not.

The night before last, the signals were so strong I lost all TV from my local power house transmitter. I put this down to the swamping of the entire band with DX signals. It all came back about 15 mins later, but it is the only thing that I can attribute that to. As you will have seen, there are plenty of signals in from abroad, and from other parts of the UK at the moment. There are also plenty of FM signals in, and I captured my first DAB (Band III) DX from Denmark last night (as did Chris (brunlad36) in Lincoln and another DXer in Grimsby)

The dutch MUXs are coming in loud and clear this morning, so hopefully we will have another brilliant DX day.

Our local news (BBC Look North) apologised, this morning, for signal break up due to "high pressure", so if they are reporting that, I guess lots of people must have been phoning in and complaining to them. Never mind, their loss is our gain!

Happy DX.

Well done on the German channels Chris, and the Danish DAB DX - it was my first DX from abroad too.

Cheers

As I was getting lots of Dutch FM radio stations this morning I thought I'd tune the TV to see what I pulled in.

No Dutch but I got TF1 HD, FR2 HD and M6 HD on channel 31. Where in France is that from?

This is the first time I've ever notched European freeview/TNT/whatever so I'm feeling very pleased with myself!

One question though. I have a Panasonic TV with HD Freesat and SD Freeview so it doesn't pull in the UK HD stations on the DTT tuner, but I was perfectly able to watch 3 French HD channels in full HD.

How come?

This is because the tuner in your TV is DVB-T only (not DVB-T2) which is required for UK HD.
French HD uses DVB-T with MPEG4 (which your tuner can receive).

I can only see 4 possible candidates, all in the Nord Pas de Calais region.

Dunkerque at 4 kW
Lille at 20kW
Maubeuge and Valenciennes both at 1 kW

Good catch.

High pressure, good weather and quite a lot of mist around this morning suggest good results!

In Cumbria on a black and white portable, even with the loop aerial, as well as the four English channels, I could receive Granada, Ulster, S4C, and on a good day RTE 1 was possible.

On a tiny loop aerial, canibalised from an old portable which sits on top of my Freeview box in the bedroom (and gives me good reception from Tacolneston) today I am getting a Belgian mux on UHF22 (I think - box shows frequency as 482 Mhz), with TV channels listed including Canvas, EEN, Ment, Njam, Studio 100, Ketnet Op 12, National Georgaphic, Discovery, Nickelodian, also several radio stations. The channels that aren't scrambled are coming in fine.
