Since you freely admit that in your view some British taxpayers are more equal than others, I suggest you are not on a firm footing here.
Anyway, and to answer your question directly, I object to :
- Taxation without representation, something you endorse even for British citizens
- unelected retirees, in the form of the House of Lords, being allowed to decide that 16 year olds may not vote on a matter that will impact their whole working lives.
- retirees, in the form of the general public, being given a vote on something on which they have a reduced stake compared to 16 year olds. The EU is about employment and , if we must, immigration. Retirees are out of the job market by definition, and immigrants , being younger, do not use health services as much. I therefore claim that retirees have a comparatively reduced stake in the outcome compared to 16 year olds.
