I've seen him in a lot of films, probably all of them, but for me, I think he really found his stride in Django Unchained. That monologue at the dinner table about "Old Ben" was worthy of an Oscar nomination in my opinion.

Also loved him in The Avatar and Catch Me If Your Can.

Not much of a fan, there's just something about him that doesn't gel for me.
I think he's awful in the awful Shutter Island. He's the reason I haven't seen Django.

If I had to choose to watch one of his it would be The Beach.

My fav performance by him is in The Aviator. If he deserved any oscar of any role in his career, it should of been that. It is a fantastic film as well. His chemistry with Cate Blanchette was just pure dynamite.

Really wish they'd do a biopic on Katharine Hepburn with Cate in the title role.

Er yes i do actually, obviously just not the same stuff as you and that's why you notice it more.
Not rocket science is it.

p.s. you conveniently missed out the part about The Beach when quoting me - i like that film.

I still see him as a young lad. I just can't take to him in grown up roles.

He's excellent in The Basketball Diaries too.

I liked Waltz in the film but I think Leo deserved the Oscar nomination over him for his role in Django Unchained, he was fantastic in it.

That's exactly my issue - good for him that he looks so young but i find it distracting and just can't take to him. Though sometimes he's a little same-y in roles too.

Nothing's come close since (that's not to say subsequent performances haven't been good, just not as good IMO)

No, I disagree, Christophe was Oscar worthy in that role. And he deserved to win.

Leonardo DiCaprio is one of the stand out actors of his generation, in my opinion, along with the likes of Edward Norton. I think that in years to come he'll be considered in the same league as the likes of Nicholson, Pacino and De Niro.

I've liked a lot of his performances, including The Beach, Titanic, Shutter Island, Inception and Catch Me If You Can. Titanic wasn't his best performance but is the main one he will be associated with.

I think he's brilliant in Shutter Island. The first time around I liked the performance, but I didn't fully get the way he played some of the scenes, but the second time around it made perfect sense. In fact the whole film is better the second time. It's impeccably put together so that you can only really appreciate the detail and nuance on second viewing.

What's Eating Gilbert Grape was, for me, his stand-out performance. I do think he's a terrific actor and that the best thing that has happened to him is that he's lost his pretty boy look, so he's more of an everyman ... which enables him to play a wider range of roles in my opinion.

I've seen a couple of films recently - The Aviator and J Edgar - where I thought he was terrific, just the films were rather a let-down lol.

I thought he was terrific in The Departed, and Catch Me If You Can showed how smooth he could be, he reminded me to a small degree of Cary Grant
