I like most kinds of music apart from heavy metal and oprea.
Was just wondering how many of you liked to listen to country music now and again like I do.
I listen most Sundays to one of my local radio statoins Forth 2 between 8pm-10pm as it has a country music show with a very good DJ.
I also have a good few country songs on my PC.

I listen to a fair bit of country - mostly alt-country and Americana rather than the poppier side of the genre.

Love country music I've been listening to quite a bit of Carrie Underwood & Vince Gill recently. One of my local radio stations has an American country show which I would listen too most nights

Patsy Cline, Hank Williams, Kitty Wells, Carter Family...

I recently returned from a trip to Nashville - Heaven!

My country music collection consists of two artists - Shania and Dolly. I'm not really a fan of the genre to be honest, but Shania is fantastic - both countrified and poppified. (Not sure if that's a word )

I adore Country music

Carrie Underwood, The Band Perry, Pistol Annies (although I can't stand solo Miranda Lambert), Ashley Monroe, Vince Gill, Little Big Town, Brad Paisley, Josh Turner etc.

I've got a few Garth Brooks albums, I can't seem to get the Amazing Machine by Sugarland out of my hifi for more than a couple of days before I have to listen to it again. There's quite a few others, too.

Yeah, I like a bit of country

I listen to a lot of country - I love Alison Krauss and Union Station, as well as Emmylou Harris.

I also watch country music shows on TV - Bliss has several specials running, and Showcase has a number of programmes. Nothing is as good as CMT used to be many years ago though.

I listen to pretty much nothing but country. Current listening is Kacey Musgraves, Ashley Monroe, Blake Shelton and always Toby Keith and Cash.

I've also recently started getting into country music, Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Civil Wars. Just another genre to add to my varied tastes but I'm mainly a rock/indie fan with a bit of 80's new wave, punk and even a spot of classic along the way

I like Lady Antebellum and I have Keith Urbans greatest hits, which I quite like. Also some of Sugarlands songs and Rascal Flatts, I have some of their stuff, so contemporary pop/country I like, yes.

Yes, but they could just as easily be labelled as alt-country or Americana, they blur the lines between the three. Those styles of country are often pretty close to folk music anyway.

There are a few of these Country and Southern threads and I always bring up my favourites...the greatest dissident redneck - Steve Earle, one of the best living songwriters - Mary Chapin Carpenter, one of the best dead ones - Townes Van Zandt and all those wonderful women of the South - Lucinda Williams, Trisha Yearwood, Reba McEntire, Dolly Parton, The Dixie Chicks....

I can only bear to listen to it if it is the left-field type by either The Cardigans or A Camp (same thing really). I'm not even all that keen on Neil Young when he's in country mode.

I love modern country and have been to see the likes of Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood and Martina McBride. I don't know why exactly I went all country considering I was listening to the likes of Judge Jules and Pete Tong only a few years ago.
