Glad Clara told the Doctor to like her and not the person she reminds him of

I was quite pleased Clara said that as she seemed fairly miffed at being compared unknowingly to a dead version of herself. Also hopefully the Doctor might look like he wants to travel with current Clara and not just because he wants to figure out what the connection is between the three of them

When he picked up Amy, he lied to her and said his promise was the only reason he was interested in her and let her on board, when in reality he was curious about the cracks too. Seems like we have a similar situation here. As before, I'm sure he'll want to carry on travelling with her after he gets his answers.

Oh yes I'm sure after the way he looked right at the end that he is letting her believe that he is now just wanting to like her and forget his dead friend.

That said, the Doctor might be 100% right to be wary of her. He has no idea whether she is friend or foe - and to be honest, neither do we. When Martha (finally) stood up for herself, we knew that she was justified. Whereas we've no idea who/what Clara is and if she was just trying to put him on the back foot - which is what happened

The only mistake was him warning her that he was suspicious of her. He should have handled it the way he did with Amy - be discreet until he understands what's going on - until he realises just how she is possible. If it transpires that she's a plastic replica of 'Clara', and the one who sticks a knife between his shoulder blades at Trenzalore, that'll learn him!

But to be fair they are the same person. He wanted to travel with the previous version and she accepted his offer then she died before she had the chance. Then the Doctor realises that he's met her before, another version of Clara who was from the future. He then goes off in search for another Clara. I don't think he went in search for her so he could find out why there are multiple versions of her, he went looking for her because he wanted to find her, so he could do what he previously desired. Solving the mystery of Clara Oswald comes with the friendship.

The Doctor said she is not possible, that would then mean she is impossible. So could she also remind him of Marilyn Monroe, Liz,River etc.

Looking forward to the resolution. Seeing as she stays for the 50th and beyond I think 11 will confirm she is a good and innocent person. Whatever has been done to her or wherever she comes from.Seems to indicate she will be alive and healthy in the present for at least the rest of the year. We don't know what will happen at christmas though ....

I think what Clara said to Eleven is exactly what Martha should've said to Ten during Series 3, so more power to Clara for doing it.

PS

In a Christmas Carol, Marilyn rang the Doctor and Rory took a message, The Doctor said he would call her back.

In the latest trailer, The Doctor shouts out Viva Las Vegas

Interesting point as I never considered she might be evil travelling with the Doctor which could be an interesting twist but I doubt they would do that.

I got that vibe too, it's almost like Clara is starting from the position Martha ended on - being independent and a match for the Doctor. Perhaps the series will start breaking down that confidence and cockiness?
