This is in reference to a few posts on the first page, not to mention a good number of threads that have cropped up recently...
So many fans are proving so difficult to please, and I say that as someone with noted quarrels with Series 7 so far!
I am sure that if they could have done, they would have reunited The Doctor and The Brigadier for this occasion. However, short of digging a respected man from his grave and putting him on strings, this is physically impossible. Moffat has managed to do the next best thing, and honoured The Brigadier in memory, with a fictional daughter. I'll admit I wasn't too keen on her character in The Power of Three (or the episode as a whole to be honest) but I'm grateful for the nod to the history the show has.
We also have Zygons in some capacity or other, which were chosen and designed specifically for use in the 50th Aniversary, rather than digging out an old Hath costume or something from The Rings of Akhaten which would have been a lot easier and cheaper.
We have a previous Doctor confirmed already. He's far from my favourite (heck, I'd have actually preferred a non-multi-Doctor story myself) but they've managed to get him back. When three of the previous Doctor's are dead it does make the whole reunion concept kind of sloppy-sounding. Without Eccleston, even more so. I have no doubt that all eleven Doctor's will be remembered in the story, but there are so many fans who consider it "unforgivable" to not include at least all the living Doctor's. Yes, it's a nice idea - but a bunch of now old men in costume running around for a single story does not a recommissioned jewel-in-the-beeb-crown series make.
I appreciate people's opinions, and enjoy hearing the amazing ideas people would love to see brought to the screen. I myself have been disappointed by about half of the episodes we've seen in the past twelve months and think the show is capable of better. But the fandom has become so unenjoyable and downright intimidating this year. I think a lot of fans, and of course I don't speak for everyone, just expect too much of the show and have unrealistic expectations for it
There, I'm done *breathes*

On that note, I myself will be interested to see Kate come back. And having Luke involved would be a brilliant way to similarly remember Sarah Jane... I do wonder if they'll make a reference to her in the story
