Your Perfect Regeneration Scene

I thought this might make an interesting thread Basically, just come up with your ideas of regeneration scene (either rough ideas or intricately planned!). So things like how it happens, where, with who, etc... And doesn't necessarily have to be 11.

I had an idea of the Doctor regenerating in space as he falls to Earth. After heroically stopping an invasion of Earth (or perhaps something more orginal), the Doctor is left drifting through space in a spacesuit. He's talking over the radio to Clara/River/whoever's around at the time, who are somewhere safe. The TARDIS, also adrift in space, whooshes straight past The Doctor, and is heading towards Earth by locking onto a safe location.

The Doctor's oxygen is slowly running out, and he realises that there's no escaping it. Some emotional dialogue follows between The Doctor and his friends, saying that he doesn't know if he'll survive this time. He loses the transmission, which is followed by various shots of him alone, suffocating and drifting silently through space. A shot follows of the Earth reflected in his visor, and a few wisps of regeneration energy fill his helmet, and he begins to enter the atmosphere.

The Doctor, looking sad but not defeated, smiles to himself. "Geronimo". He begins accelerating, faster and faster in a ball of fire. One final close up of his face, and he starts to regenerate as he falls towards Earth. The regeneration energy erupts from his head and limbs as he shouts out, with the camera shaking as it keeps up with the ball of fire. Various shots follow from different angles, with dramatic triumphant music in the background. One final shot of him rushing towards Earth, and it fades to black.

I thought of this scene as the end of the series before a hiatus, and then the new Doctor crashes to Earth at the beginning of the next series. I know it's a bit similar to 10's regeneration/the beginning of TDTWATW, but I thought that the image of The Doctor drifting through space alone and regenerating as he falls would look really great

Go out fighting! Literally thats all I want. I want it to be quite quick and heroic, like Ecclestone's (but more Eleven-y)

After River dies the doctor becomes depressed kills himself. (Not dark because he knows he will regenerate) he regenerates and says "it begins again" but this time something is different... This time he's a girl

on the whole I agree with this. The Doctor should regenerate as a result of a heroic action, and face his regeneration with the same sort of attitude that Nine did, thus going out on a high note.

I would have a situation with Matts dr and clara surrounded by an army of raston robots - but to escape from them the dr has run out in front of them to say press a button to destroy them - and does so thus committing suicide but sacrificing himself

OMG SO THIS!!!! Although I still maintain my opinion that I'd prefer to see her as the companion - with the show now bigger in the US, and her ties to the UK and sci-fi...I think she'd be an absolutely stunning and brilliant successor to Jenna. Someone a bit older too... she's naturally blonde as well so we could always get around the ginger-favouritism by already having had Donna and Amy

More on topic: My favourite regeneration scene is one that will now never happen. It would have involved The Stolen Earth, with The Doctor actually regenerating. We don't see the results because at the start of Journey's End we see Jack and Rose evacuate the TARDIS (and get taken to the Crucible by a Dalek patrol) whilst Donna doesn't make it out in time...
She has that reaction with the hand and MetaTen is formed. They carry an out-of-shot unconcious Doctor to somewhere safe aboard the TARDIS before flying it to the Crucible, letting the Children of Time believe that MetaTen is the actual Doctor. The episode unfolds more-or-less accordingly and leaves us with us pondering the identity of the Eleventh Doctor until the following series, whilst MetaTen was a device to allow Tennant a role in the finale itself

I've always had in my head a clear version of what I would like for the Eleventh's Doctor's regeneration would be like, assuming that the Fields of Trenzalore is his final story.

Picture this:

The Doctor, and two companions (assuming this happens after Clara leaves), running towards the distant TARDIS as all hell breaks loose. The Question has been answered. Silence is falling and dying around them.

As they near the TARDIS, one of the remaining Silence manages to fire one last bolt that strikes the Doctor in the back, and the attack exits through his stomach, or chest.

In slow-mo, he falls to the ground, battered, bruised and defeated, with two large scorches marking the entrance and exit wounds. His companions see that he is down and try to lift him up, but he is powerless to help them and must be dragged.

During this, he sees images of past enemies he has seen and fought during this lifetime, each one cursing his name; Prisoner Zero, Daleks, Cybermen, Soloman, Weeping Angels, Ice Warriors, The Great Intelligence, Kovorian, and the Silence.

The companions manage to drag the Doctor back to the TARDIS just as the events outside reaches its climax. They get through the door and into the console room and frantically try to operate the machine, all as the TARDIS shakes, threatened to be dragged into the chaos outside.

The Doctor, with waning strength, manages to operate the TARDIS, and fly them away into the time vortex before falling backward, and lays on the stairs.

He then sees images of the friends he's made during this lifetime, comforted by the good times that he's had with them: Amy, Rory, River, Craig, Canton, Kate, Vastra, Jenny, Strax, and Clara.

Meanwhile, his current companions stand over him, calling his name.

He looks up to the male companion, who has been with him much longer, and says kind things to him.

He then looks to the female companion, who has only just met him.

"I'm sorry, we've never actually been properly introduced," the Doctor says.

The companion says her name. "And you, you're-"*

"No, no! Don't say that!" The Doctor tries to raise his hand, but it falls back. "Nothing good happens when that's said." He then smiles, he's weak, but it's still warm and welcoming. "Hello, I'm the Doctor. It's very nice to meet you."

The Doctor's eyes then close, his head falls back, and his body goes limp.

The companions spend several moments looking at the fallen Doctor, grieving.

A soft light then glows off the Doctor, slowly at first, before bright flames consume him, though lacking the sudden violent lights from the previous two.

A close-up of the Doctor's face as it begins to change.

The Eleventh Doctor dies.

The Twelfth Doctor is born.

*Assuming that the Doctor's name was spoken, but in order to preserve secrecy, there was no audio when he said it.

It doeesent actually involve the current Doctor, but I have the perfect idea for the regeneration we never saw in my head. The TARDIS is wrecked in the aftermath of the last great time, 8's gothich interior is smashed up, Gallifrey has been destroyed and the Time Lords have all been wiped out, with the exception of the Doctor. Alone, inside a dying TARDIS, a distraught suicidal 8 decides to not regenerate, but then the TARDIS saves. One little part of that console room still survives. The gramophone. It starts playing on it's own. Madame Butterfly, Puccini, the music he was born to. And he resolves to carry on. The Time Lords will carry on in him. And he regenerates into 9, the regeneration energy engulfing the TARDIS, rebuilding it as well as him, as they fall down to Earth, in 2005.

Regeneration while running, and struggling to do so.

Slow-motion for effect.

Epic.

My idea for the regeneration of The Doctor would be that somehow due to all sorts of timey wimey and Clara and lots of other stuff, Clara has the Doctor's pocket watch which she has collected without the Doctor knowing.
She suddenly turns up when The Doctor has been unfortunately been defeated by the Silence and he wishes to be heard and listened to, so cue a lovely Doctor speech that explains how he fought for the good though he always had the faith to carry on, to never give up etc, then Clara takes his pocket watch and somehow takes it's energy, leaving The Doctor weak and lost without it's time link, as he starts to regenerate, Clara walks away.
Then as The Doctor fully regenerates, he looks around to find he is back in The Tards with Victorian Clara at the console. "You're awake, I was getting worried there, what does this button do?"asks Clara.

How about a tactical Regeneration? Something fitting for the Master, say an episode where The Doctor has to come and help The Master who's been put to death (again) only this time The Doctor does help, breaks The Master free and in an attempt to race back to the TARDIS, they get surrounded by the enemy of choice, threatening to kill both of them. The Master then pulls out a gun and points it to The Doctor "I guess it's time for me to do this properly" before turning the gun on himself, pointing it at one of his hearts and firing a shot, causing him to fall to his knees.

At the exact same moment, enemy of choice comes charging at both The Master and The Doctor, The Master leaps up and explodes with Regeneration Energy forcing everyone else back, after a few moments the new Master emerges with a smug smile, laughing, "Go ahead, take your best shot now!" One of the enemies then fires from point blank range directly at The Master, "Oh dear, I guess you fellows don't know about our little Time Lord trick", before then using the Regen energy to fire back the bullets killing any remaining enemies around.

It's maybe a trivial addition to this thread but I don't like the orange energy. I'd love to see them go back to the more sedate and less phyrric regenerations.

I'd like to see the Doctor choose to regenerate after becoming a darker and more evil character. For example, imagine the scene from the End of Time where the Doctor is pointing a gun at the Master, with some more violent variations:

The Master: You never would. You're The Doctor.
The Doctor *cocks gun*: Not any more.

The Doctor shoots him, breaks that link with gallifrey, world saved. Disgusted with himself, he purposefully regenerates, maybe by shooting himself. And so the Doctor goes out with the most badass one-liner ever.
Yeah, that would never be allowed to air. . .
