I recently tried to change the memory dimms on the above machine. The only thing is that since I did this the machine doesn't boot, I can hear the hard disk working but I don't hear anything else apart from the fans. I have swapped the new dimms back for the old dimms but I still get the same response. I don't think the PC was plugged in when I swapped them so that shouldn't have been an issue. Any advice please?

Double-check all the connections and then check them again. Reseat the RAM, graphics card, etc.

Were you simply upgrading the RAM or was there a suspected problem with it? Any other relevant information? For example, have there been recent repairs or upgrades, did you find the machine in a skip and are trying to get it working? The more info, the better.

Thankyou for your help. The PC is a family machine and it appeared to work ok (but very slow) before I opened it. There are no recent repairs or upgrades. I have tried both the new and old ram and reseated it numerous times and I don't get any startup at all.
