People always comment on how clean my cat Jess is and how she keeps her white tummy and paws so white

She smells of awesome as well, which she bloody should seeing as she never stops washing herself
Why do cats smell so good?

One of the cats I had as a child used to smell of perfume, or face powder or something.

My present cat just smells of awesome too, and when she comes in from the garden she smells of woody outdoors awesome.

Oh dear, too many awesomes, I'm not even young enough to use the term.

They don't have to do it in my bluddy garden though! They sometimes do it on the lawn as well. I hate the little buggers.
I have that problem on my lawn as well.

well they lick their bum instead of using toilet paper.
That's because Cravendale stole all the cats with thumbs, and without opposable thumbs it's difficult for 'regular' cats to gain purchase.

I've had cats all my life, and have never caught an infection from any of them.

Cats are very fastidious in cleaning themselves, and rarely get ill.

Same here.

Mowing the lawn with cat sh@te flying everywhere isn't any fun.

I've got three cats, they sleep on my bed, and I'm forever having to chase them out of the kitchen but I've never caught anything off them!

Get a cat of your own. They're very territorial, so won't allow others in. Then, at worst, you'll only have one lot of cat shit to clean up!

Lets not turn this into a dogs v cats rant. Each species has its own qualities and each owner has their own requirements. Cats drink anti-freeze which makes them stupid.

Cats are no more clean or dirty than any other animal IMO, except that they are routinely allowed on worktops etc.

They are notorious for causing infections through bites as their mouths are pretty grim, similar with scratches.

My siamese does this thing where if somebody is around that he isn't keen on, he sticks his legs in the air and proceeds to ram his tongue up his jacksie.

In the scheme of things it's not terribly hygienic.

They are quite dirty and they don't care where they lay their eggs either.

Cats are clean because their saliva contains a natural detergent.

People with cats have lower stress levels, lower blood pressure, less depression and fewer heart attacks. They have longer life expectancy.

I'm not buying that

cat bites are notorious for infection, my cats neck proper exploded where he had been bitten and that was by his own species, so it must have been really toxic.

Cats are ace. You can tell when you step in to a cat owners house that a cat lives there because of a mild smell of cat food.

Whereas dogs, they're just dirty. I hate going in to houses where dogs live - they always stink.
